I work remotely so I’ll be moving down with my job for now. But I do want to get into the health field so probably around April I want to put in applications with Grady and Emory and other health related places.
I’m surprised about Conyers because when I was reading up on it, it seemed to be majority black, which is why it was on my list. I prefer to live around a majority of my skin folk.
The demographics in Conyers are changing, but it isn’t like Clayton or DeKalb that’s almost all black.
this may sound funny, but one indicator of an area becoming more black is if the local high school switches from a white style band to a black one. I know the band is Salem HS in Conyers is black. You may wanna check around the Salem HS area. Rockdale County HS & Heritage HS are the other schools there, & they still have those white bands. I’ve seen this first hand, cause when we first moved to Clayton County in 2000 that’s when all the bands down there started to change & sure enough white folk got the hell out of Clay Co. I notice it more so now as a high school band director myself.
If Emory or Grady is a goal for you that drive to and from Gwinnett will be hell every day. If I remember correctly, I remember you saying you have a child before on here. Clayton and DeKalb are much closer to Grady & Emory, but the schools have bad reputations, and it’ll be easy for kids to fall into that ratchet mindset in those areas if parents don’t stay on them.
Also look into South Fulton..the city of South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Hapeville, certain parts of East Point and College Park.
They’re much closer to the hospitals as well, they’re majority black & it isn’t as ratchet at Clayton & DeKalb Counties.
The kids in the Creekside, Langston Hughes & Westlake High School districts have some sense because it’s a lot of black money in those areas. You still have your trouble makers, but it isn’t anywhere near the level of the schools in Clayton & Dekalb.
If I ever get rich I’m moving to one of the $400K-1 mill subdivisions near Westlake or Langston. I’d get to raise my family in a beautiful home & have my kids growing up in an all black area going to an all black high school.
One of the more expensive communities on that side of town. The original plan for the community was to develop in 3 phases. Phase 1 (largest section) - homes were originally priced in the $600-800k range. Phase 2&3 (the smaller sections up the street) - homes originally priced at $1mil+.
Like most places, community value took a hit back when the real estate market crashed. Very nice homes though.
next time you are in the area take a drive down Enon Rd. There are some very nice estates on that side. Have quite a few gems in the Cascade area as well.
Will do bruh. I work in Fairburn, so I see some of the neighborhoods there while riding around sometimes. I want to ride around the Westlake area more. I know they have more luxury homes than around the Creekside and Langston cluster.
