It’s really because, I believe, Nigerians came before the slave trade and integrated with the Native Americans. Which would explain the DNA and why early Native Americans had dark skin.

From what I've seen only Black Americans talk about all that. Black people in the rest of the Americas often still have cultural/linguistic links to the continent and the history, thus have no reason to invent another story :yeshrug:

You nikkas need to stop generalizing

:snoop:

The man who made this theory popular was Guyanese:

Ivan Van Sertima (1935-2009) •

We even have posters who are straight up African like @UpAndComing and @thekingsmen who believe in the theory.

How do we explain the Africanisms in
the cultures of Black people in the Americas, than?

All Black Scholars, teachers or political commentators all say "At one time, the whole world was black" but then contradict it by saying Africa was the origin.

How does one continent control the narrative where indigenous people have came from?

My question is if you were born in NY but lived in Alabama all your life, are you considered a New Yorker??

Maybe they just had a tan?

misreading of Van Sertima

I doubt that more than 1% of the people who repeat some of this stuff have ever read a complete article, much less a book of Van Sertima's.

I doubt that they know he took the whole theory from Leo Weiner.

I know, for a fact, they don't know that theory's been refuted.

All right, I'll stand by and clarify the first part of what I said, that 95 % of the times I've heard these theories it's Black Americans :yeshrug:

But which is it then, if Black people were always in the Americas, how can they also be the original Jews and descendants of ancient Egyptians if they don't come from Africa? :jbhmm:

African slaves passed them down to their descendants.

Just because they were in-bondage doesn't mean they were silent and didn't keep traditions.

Do you two have @thekingsmen on ignore? Im replying to this

While Ivan's book is a great study.. He has it wrong that Aboriginal Natives in America came from Africa. They were always here and have no relation to Africa at all.

I've read Van Sertima , and he credits previous scholars. He expanded on their work.
I disagree with their views, but at least it's rooted in research.

The "where are the slave ships?" crowd is embarrassing.

Is it possible that humans "appeared" in different regions of the world at different times?
