Its good to know that according to Lebron James fan @murksiderock ,

Lebron James is "widely considered to be a greater defender than Mike". And by "widely", I think that's you, ISO , Nick Wright and who else?

You didnt watch Jordan to type that out with a straight face. You're grasping at straws and this is you:

Your argument is Lebron finished twice as a runner up for DPOTY . Really? How many times did Jordan finish in the top 2? How many times did Jordan win the DPOTY? How many all defensive 1st teams does Lebron have having played many more games than Jordan?

And look at who both players were competing against for the DPOTY award. Further proof the more talented league stuff is a bunch of nonsense

Lebron is not even a better defender than Kobe.

Can I see some receipts bruv :sas1:

Backpicks has the most comprehensive breakdown of their defensive ability online; I care not for forums like this where guys who wont or dont actually evaluate defense just say "because I say so". Even if you personally believe Mike to be better, it's okay to stop pretending Bron was never an elite defender. Certainly his defensive acuity wrangled opponent gameplans more than Mike's and he has more game-altering defensive impact in the postseason than Mike easily...

LMAO its not even close. Eye test and acclamation wise, Lebron is not even in the same stratosphere and only an ignorant person will enterain arguing in favor of Lebron defensively.

Jordan played elite defense throughout his entire career. Lebron played elite defense for 5 or 6 years.

Jordan has a DPOTY and finished 2nd in 1993. His competition in 1993 was Hakeem, David Robinson, Dennis Rodman and Patrick Ewing. Literally the best defensive big men to ever play.

His competition in 1988 was Mark Eaton (all time blocks per game leader), Hakeem, Alvin Robertson (all time steals per game leader), Michael Cooper (8x all defensive , DPOTY) , Patrick Ewing.

Lebron finished 2nd in 2013 for DPOTY and his competition was Marc Gasol, Ibaka, Joakhim Noah, Tony Allen and a 36 yr old Duncan. :mjlol::lolbron:

If this was Jordan's competition, how many Defensive Player of the Year awards would he have won? C'mon now :hhh:

Jordan has

9x all defensive 1st team (NBA record)
1 DPOTY
Finished in the top 5 on five different occassions.
And played in an era of the best big men in history
3rd all time in steals and 3rd all time in steals per game
Multiple seasons with 100+ blocks and 200+ steals
6 season with 200+ steals (NBA record) , 2 seasons with 100+ blocks (record for a guard)
3x steals titles

Lebron has

5x all defensive 1st team
0 DPOTY
Finished in the top 5 on four different occassions
And played in a weak era of big men and weaker competition for the DPOTY award
Not top 5 in either steals or blocks or in either steals or blocks per game
0 seasons with 100+ blocks and 0 seasons with 200+ steals
0 steals titles

Jordan played in a tougher era to win the award, played less seasons and games and is way more acclaimed for defensive prizes. :russ: Facts. Like, how is this even a real discussion?

Lebron is not a better defender than Kobe. Kobe was a better defender and commited to playing elite defense for many more years than Lebron did.

I’m not knocking Lebron’s “when he feels engaged” lazy defensive style but unequivocally “NO” he is not a better defender than MJ.

Kinda funny that MJ has that much of a lead in terms of accolades over LeBron, and he's STILL universally thought of as being only marginally better, with quite a few people having it as a 1A, 1B type situation:wow:.

Just let's me know that Bron is just better.

Barkley, Malone, Ewing, and Miller don't have rings because of MJ.

What great of this era doesn't have a ring because of Bron?
Those 4 don't have rings because they didn't get the job done outside of the years they played Jordan.

Idk why you even included Reggie & Ewing like those two and MJ didn't play in the same conference, and as if their teams would've beaten Utah.

They even got to the Finals while he was retired, so your argument makes even less sense.

Utah and Malone were habitual chokers in the playoffs. They probably would've won in '95 had they not lost to Houston in the 1st round.

You don't know what you're talking about. Jordan never "slacked off tremendously" in his late 20's or in any period in his Bulls career as you claim. Even in the Wizards years, he was still busting his ass.

In 1992/93 at age 30, Jordan finished 2nd in DPOTY voting behind Hakeem and ahead of Rodman, David Robinson and Patrick Ewing. He also won the steals title that year.

Bruh……. Your channel of highlights won’t make your case…. You would had to have witnesses that era of the NBA…..

This post proves my point…. He was not a specialist and was getting nods in an era where big men had the most defensive impact and he was making all defensive teams when he wasn’t even the best defensive guard on his team if I remember correctly

What guard was better defensively than Mj on the Bulls? I know you not about to say Ron Harper.

Ron Harper was a better defender than Jordan on some of those 1st team all D squads when Ron was with the clippers… Randy Brown defensive prowess during his Bulls run >> than a 30 plus year old Jordan, but I think Jordan was still making All D squads still….
