See I'd say obvious stuff is:

Godfather
Goodfellas
Jaws
Star Wars
Halloween
Boyz n the Hood
Menace 2 Society
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Apocalypse Now

shyt like that.
I specifically didn't want any of those to be named first but if someone wanted to name them then yeah go ahead. But yeah you gotta start somewhere, like you said.

Maybe its because my sister and i grew up on cult films on HBO.

And now I'm too in the film twitter and podcast Echo chamber.

Even the Canon just did an ep on The Lost Boys

It is to me. No offense. Even if it is cult film like this is

We grew up on diddy paying homage to it on a famous remix. Shaq still quotes it every week on Inside the NBA.

Everyone knows the famous line.

It's been on TV every week my whole life.

Space Jam has been on tv all the time too. It's ubiquitous in culture. I can go to a store right now and find space jam memorabilia, I can buy space jam sneakers thanks to MJ and I can get a space jam jersey or newly minted blu ray in a steelbook.

Something being ubiquitous in pop culture doesn't make it a safe movie for me because there's no way in hell I'd say space jam is a hall of fame movie

I would've until I watched it recently. I'm pretty sure my next choice will be a no. Not a solid no but I don't expect it to get a lot of yes votes. I'll be shocked if it does
Lost Boys still holds up
