The fact Killer Mike's rules of how Black America can save itself is actually controversial speaks volumes.

Wasn’t what was I was trying to say just showing how we desperately need a path forward that solves BOTH issues and how they do it to us that’s all man

That path forward is education. If you cannot even complete highscool you will not make it.

I don't want to hear excuses of 'resourse' when we all have smartphones that can access Khan Academy & Youtube.

I don’t get whats controversial about this
I think what’s controversial is the word “save” or “solve”.

That leads people to believe all will be fixed. Probably should have presented as things that will help aid in our improvement.

The issue with that is people probably wouldn’t pay it as much attention. Overall what he said wasn’t wrong but In today’s society nobody likes taking any accountability

Lacking knowledge about an issue doesn’t make you correct. I keep having to repeat that on here. Saying retarded shyt like “white supremacy doesn’t matter and isn’t holding us back we’re doing fine” shows you know less than dikk about black history in America

Blaming black struggle on the individual is some Reagan bullshyt that serves to run cover for structural racism and white supremacy. Shameful
So if a black individual has chosen to have a child out of wedlock, chosen to not value education, and puts not effort into improving their circumstances, it’s because of white supremacy?

These convos always dissolve into pragmatism vs idealism.

Yes. He speaking how to do this now. And change the narrative for the next 100 yrs. In a free market capilistic system

But some pppl dont want to bow dow to a system that creates division and where the one with the power is the one with the most wealth. Some ppl have pride and morals that cant be bargained. Especially a system that makes in 100times harder to succeed because of your skin tone.

Its depressing. And fighting both wars is valiant. But i think only one thing can really cause change. And that is stripping white ppl of complete control.

I can't explain how much I hate that dude. Every Black person in "Bread Tube" are so out of touch, but he's the worst. Worse than the Caribbean dude, worse than the always depressed dude. Worse than the females...
I don’t like him either.. but what’s “Bread Tube”?

Black men and women simply living together would boost the black community up. We can't even do that.

These dudes always use minimum wage as an excuse to not get anywhere when its hella Mexicans working minimum wage and pooling resources.

If you got 4 black folks making minimum wage living in the same household, everybody could save money and pool resources.

There is a very sad belief in the black community that the average white person has countless opportunities thrown at them, and is financially secure. Not only is this not true, but our opposition to marriage and traditional families contributes to our financial struggle. I’ve met tons of white married couples who both work full time blue collar jobs, and are able to combine finances, and own homes. Meanwhile, we have so many children out of wedlock, and single adults who want to buy property, but either don’t have the credit, or income alone. We have too many brehs working decent jobs, but can’t build wealth because of child support. The lack of a positive male role model in the home isn’t helping either. I know a lot of men who are in contact with their children everyday, but having a positive male influence in the home, seeing examples of how to handle day to day situations, and seeing a working man lead a household makes a difference.

That's what most people miss in these discussions

If you've lived or worked around these Mexicans and Asians you see how much they've leveraged out of minimum wage jobs :francis:

Now in Texas local political offices are held by all kinds of Martinez's and Lopez's :francis:

The very definition of bootstraps is education and working your way up the ladder. Do you think it's purely luck that some black men are making $100k+? Because if it's not working hard how else are some black people living in $500,000 houses?

nikkas been working hard for centuries and a lot of the hardest working nikkas never made it above sharecropper, janitor, or whatever blue collar job that could support a family in yesteryear. What you call luck is actual policy in the form of affirmative action, which is policy that came right after the civil rights act that our elders sacrificed and died for

:mjlol:

Got that Reagan era boomer brain that works to paint blacks in poverty as children who only made bad choices and that the outside worlds disadvantages play no role in their situation at all.

It’s fukking dumb take this crap to someone who actually cares to indulge in this smooth brained shyt

I mean hell live through one recession and that pretty much proves this entire thesis wrong and dumb

Any black person who says we can bootstrap our way completely out of this situation without assistance from social programs and public policy is being disingenuous at best and a sellout at worst.

There is absolutely some things we can do on our own to improve our situation collectively, but closing the gap with our whit counterparts will absolutely require properly enforced government policy as well

every black person in america would have to consistently earn more than white people, save more than white people, and each generation would have to do it for centuries to even come close to closing the wealth gap.

it's a strategy that ignores the fact that great innovation causes the wealth gap to widen even more like during the 90's.
