I don't agree with this at all.

Towards the end it got info dump heavy but before that I was heavily invested in the story

I like how the game explains it's backstory on how the tribal people came to develop their religion and what they worship.

It shows you how easily todays religions formed.

From just being in awe of the sun, to being grateful for the sun, to worshipping the sun, to correlating good crops/seasons to worshipping the sun then it just funneled from there to modern religion.

They showed the beginning stages of something like that with how they worshipped the 'mother in the mountain' and how their misunderstandings of science and technology completely built up their own religion.
