This has more to do with the studio that owns the property than RDJ. I would've said the same about Patrick Stewart back in the day.
But FOX and WB and Sony don't give a fukk. they'll reboot every 3 years if they think it's more money in it.
If RDJ was Iron man in a WB movie, we'd already be on our third Iron man right now. Joseph Gordan Levit would be in preproduction on his third iron man film right now. :mjlol:

Incredible Hulk and IM1 are absolutely MCU :dahell:

I specifically said "before the MCU got into full swing" and "before the MCU knew what it truly wanted to be"

Nowadays, MCU doesn't even give actors the opportunity to "bow out" after one movie because when they sign them, they sign them up for multi-picture deals, because they want there to be an established continuity, which means that the actors have to continue throughout the franchise as well.

I don't see them firing Don Cheadle in 2021 the way they fired Terrance Howard back in 2009. They want their actors to stay on to keep that established connection and rapport that they have built with their audience.

When they got rid of Howard, and Norton left, they were still in the infancy stages of the MCU. Now it's a well-oiled machine with an established 30 movie future plan, and to do that, they need to keep the same actors to portray characters, instead of switching them out the way Batman movies always have.

That because there was a batman in the 50s and 60s
Batman has been in movies and tv way longer then iron man.

ya this is not a fair comparison at all

there have been 13 live action batman movies dating back to the 1940s and 3 for iron man dating back to 2008 lol

Incredible Hulk and IM1 are absolutely MCU :dahell:

And both were done before Marvel was acquired by Disney and Marvel Studios actually become a "thing" thing.

Once they got that rolling, recasting on a humbug, especially over Money?? Negotiations for Terrance Howard wouldn't have been so tight with Disney footing the bill and Norton might have been able to have more input or more incentive to stfu.

Robert Downey Jr was just being Robert Downey Jr in those MCU movies.
Dude probably flexed his acting muscles like 3 times in the entire time he was playing Iron Man.

That being said...no part is so precious that it cannot be played by another actor and eventually Disney will cast someone else as Iron Man, Capt. America, Black Panther and all the rest of the current MCU heroes.

We got our first live action Tony Stark depiction in 2008 which also happens to be in a shared universe. We’ve gotten live action Batmans since the 1930s. Not a comparison.

Hmmmm I think it’s simple...Batman/Spider-Man are literally the most popular comic characters ever. Both characters are cash cows. Because of that you will always have movie studios cash in on the characters. I mean look at how many Batman/Spider-Man cartoons there are.

Bale should still be Batman :ld:

The character has been reduced to a symbol instead of a character. And technically, that should be the case. But no actor has taken command of the role to compel exclusivity.

Translation: You're making a weak ass excuse :sas2:

The problem with casting batman in modern times is.
When they bring up successful license to relaunch batman.

The continue to cast someone who would be the joker recast as batman.
Then never moving bruce wayne out of the completely fictional charwcter realm. Into a real actor who embodies what bruce behind the cowl will be.

They continue to ruin batman and have this bullshyt vertigo meets graphic novel idea. That ruins batman from being thought of centrally as a hero.

Christian bale = should be the joker
Michael keaton = should be the joker
Pattinson = should be the joker

None of those dudes are batman and drag batman back to the level of camp bullshyt associated with batman.
To the point. Batman rrally never even saves the day in his movie. The joker falls and never establishes batman as a hero.
Nor character the film is centrally about.

That is thr problem with bale and any other successful relaunch of batman.

Batman is an after thought or parody to warner. That they lucky they have vertigo trash content to save them.
