Rent: it's not just a musical soundtrack you memorized in the '90s! It's also something you (likely) pay in DC, and do so quite amply.

The Metro: it's how you get places in DC, from your job to your favorite bar. Thus, figuring out which Metro stop will get you the places you need to go at a price you can afford would have to be a pretty significant consideration when living in DC, yes? Wouldn't it be fantastic if someone put together a convenient map highlighting the median price (per bedroom) of an apartment near every Metro stop? Why yes, it would. That's why we did it, with a hefty assist from the real estate pros at Trulia.

Click HERE to see the whole thing blown up, or scroll down for the line-by-line breakdown.

Fine print: Trulia data includes apartments in Census blocks -- areas roughly equivalent to city blocks, used for statistical purposes by the US Census -- located within a quarter-mile of the station.

You can find barely affordable stuff around Shaw-Petworth, but it's hard as fukk. Only truly affordable apartments in DC are in Southeast and Northeast but cacs are quickly gentrifying those areas too. Right now is prolly the best time to move into places like Anacostia and Deanwood before too many cacs move in and price the regular folks out.

I'm assuming these prices are all for a 1-bedroom apartment.

I pay a little over $1300, plus a $300 monthly metro north train pass here in NY.

I could afford quite a few places in the DC area.
But I'm almost certain that utilities and food costs make it nearly the same as living up here.

This is pretty cool though.

lol, while nikkaz sayin :whoa: them yts is moving in like "Oh, I'm sure the neighborhood will get better in due time." :scheme:

Kinda funny how all these cacs have moved into Uptown and now there's a surge of violence and they can't deal with it. I remember being at a friend's house one time, 30 mins after I left somebody got shot in front of her crib and her new white neighbors were freakin out like "I can't believe this is happening here!" lmfao, ol square ass, unhip, OT mothafukkas. :russ:

Im on the redline, but i cant afford shiit on the redline, and aint no place around Glenmont and Wheaton that cheap, unless you just renting a room or a basement.

Living in a house thats already payed off. So i virtually pay nothing, and its just me.

On the low, im always kinda happy when i hear off some fuccery goings on Uptown and KDY in hopes that it drives away them yts.

I get so happy when i see a bunch of knuckleheads on the train when its packed with them colonizers and they get up to their nonsense.

Wholetime I feel the exact same way. I can't help but to let out a snicker when them fake ass frontiersmen in the hood get a reality check. :lolbron:
