no offense man you say your a comic fan but you seem more like a MCU Stan or a casual fan .
Do you actually read marvel comics? Also a shared universe isn't the end all be all.
By the way marvel has recast the hulk Howard stark and war machine in the MCU :heh: but yup marvel would never recast or have multiple people play the same role

They recast when they HAVE to.

I collected comics in the 90s. I still have a couple long boxes.

There's this thing called the internet. I have been able to keep up with the general current events in the past several years without spending $50/month on hard copies.

You callin me out? What you wanna quiz me about?

Iron Man to me in 95 was like Plastic Man or Hercules. I was aware of him but I didn't give a shyt really. If you say you did I'd give it a 50/50 chance of that being bullshyt.

That's the whole point of what I'm sayin about MCU. They could prolly give Wonder Man a dope flick. But the other guys are struggling with Superman. Superman.

DC needs time to establish every character in JL not named Batman and Superman. Which is why they're throwing the kitchen sink at "Batman V Superman".

You think people give a fukk about an Aquaman movie? :dahell:

Fred.
Man stop it , people know aquaman and his powers , Wonder Woman and her powers , green lantern , flash , cyborg even . Your acting like a Stan . They can establish their universe with the movies they are releasing . You forget that they also are releasing SS this year . See the movie see how it is handled then say DC did it wrong . Other than that your riding for marvel based off nothing

Man of steel came out 3 years ago. The universe doesnt start next month,it started 3 years ago.

There was nothing in "MOS" to indicate it was the start of anything. DC had to retcon Batman into scenes from "Batman V Superman" to even tie the two together.

I know people hate DC/Marvel comparisons but the start of a cinematic universe is Fury mentioning The Avengers at the end of "Ironman"....not adding a character to a movie 3 years later.

How are they struggling ? They made one movie then B VS S . And yoir already making excuses when I showed your point was wrong . Why didn't the hulk get a sequel if marvel can do no wrong ? Why not mention DC had 2 billion dollar movies during marvels run . Also not knowing who the mandarin is before iron man3 is ridiculous . And by the way how are you praising their stories when mandarin is nothing like the comics at all

Sorry I wasn't clear. The movies are being based heavily on these Elseworld tales. That's fun and all, but it's not the "real" Batman. MoS Superman is not based on an Elseworlds version that I know of, but he's the Nolanesqe Super. Not the "real" Super.

I'm rambling. Sum it up.

Them using Frank Miller's Batman instead of the "real" Batman (and a Grim Superman) constitutes a total retelling of the character.

The basic theme with DC seems to be "reinvent". They seem to constantly start over. It shatters the illusion of a cohesive universe.

I only brought up those Elseworlds comics because they are considered far and away the best examples of said character. No Marvel "What if?" defines the character (Old Man Logan is close to being an example, but he's in 616 now).

Simply put: there seems to be no "Real Batman". Just Version X Version Y and Version Z

What are you talking about :wtf: Elseworld would be having Robin or dikk as Batman or Kara as Superwoman and Superman doesn't exist. Clark and Bruce's origins are the same as the comic book, even Lex with his OG red hair, it's just that Bruce is in his prime already and we're not going through origin stories. The stories may have changed to keep things "fresh" but it's still the same characters. It would be saying TDK Joker is Elseworld because he didn't fall into acid and wears makeup or Bane because he didn't grow bigger and have venom pumping into him. The MCU can get away with this because this is the first time we've seen these characters outside of Hulk and Spiderman, which are currently struggling to find their solo ground.

Young Stark is already full grown. And they only use the actor for the younger version cause yeah they have Slattery.
But when other people partake in this argument you whine like it's not cool. Why are you doing it presently?

But.....man of steel is literally the start of the universe. You can't say it doesn't count just because.

The satellite in man of steel read wayne enterprises. So....the character existed in the universe, they didn't add anything.

"Batman V Superman" retroactively added Batman to scenes from "MOS".

That's like saying Spider-Man in "Civil War" was planned in the 2012 "Avengers" movie because it almost had an Oscorp Tower in it. shyt makes no sense on any level.

Exactly so like my point said young stark can't turn into slattery .

How is that the same ? They were in the movie so the characters existed hence a shared universe is possible . You can't use an example of somthing that didn't happen as comparison to somthing that actually happened.
