He probably went back cause gordon got shot. Outside of that, I can't really give you any other reason for him to go back to being batman. All I'm saying is its pretty easy to stay in for the night for a few years if you not only getting shot at from the front by a criminal you trying to apprehend but from the back by the police you trying to help.

bruce was in the batcave for the 1st time in YEARS just because selina robbed his ass.

it was only made official by gordon's plea...

I'm sorry but that's bull, organised crime may have been at a minimum but for Nolan to create a Gotham City where NO crime exists is a cheap cop out. Again Batman's remit is not just mobsters, NO crime is too small for him. And then to make it worse he comes back into the swing of things pretty quickly without much internal struggle.

Bruce calling it quits, deflates the ending speech Gordon gives in the end of TDK. You're given a sense that Bruce has now truly embodied "The Dark Knight" of Gotham, doing the work no one else is willing to do, despite the scrutiny of the public, because "He can take it."

And he would've but the streets didn't need him. There wasn't anything out there the cops couldn't handled. Before, criminals were basically running Gotham.
And who said there was NO crime?

That, to me, is a core misunderstanding of the character that it's really tough to excuse, even in a more "human" take. At the end of the day, as much as I lile the Nolan films, taking the almost super-human drive and determination away from The Batman for the sake of "reality" betrays the core of the character's origin and purpose.

I still like the films (TDK more than Batman Begins and TDKR) but I wish creators could temper their desires to put "their own take" on characters like The Batman and Superman. They're almost a century old and will be here long after us.

There's creative freedom, but there's also dedication to the legacy and the integrity of a character with such history.

From Batman Begins to The Dark Knight only a year or a year and a half has passed. He hasn't been in the active long enough to become like he is now in the comics.

The reason for becoming Batman was to clean up the corruption in Gotham and when that was done he wasn't needed.

Honestly, Batman in the comics is borderline crazy. Little separates him from the inmates/patients in Arkham.

Movie Batman still has some sanity left, since he wasn't been through the things comicbook Batman been through.

The pit scene shows his super human drive and determination.

Wanted or not, that would not stop Bruce from carrying out his pledge, remember the guy is obsessed with this life.

In Dark Knight Returns, Bruce Wayne was old and had YEARS of experience. Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne was Batman for ONE year, then retires for 8 years, comes back for one last adventure, and then retires again. It cheapens everything that was great about Dark Knight Returns.

As I said earlier Nolan should have fully committed to that story line or ditched it.

:what: He wasn't doing Dark Knight Returns, though. I saw more elements of the Knightfall saga and No Man's Land with a little DKR at the beginning.

How was it snowing and the streets were plowed, you telling me that Bane had public works going. fukk that the union wouldve been strikin over that shyt.

They wouldve ran out of gas running those fukkin nuke carriers 24/7. Those things dont get a good mpg in the city.

Liked the movie for what is it was and Bane had some ether lines

I thought Gordon subtly realized Bruce was Batman when Bruce smashed the Lambo into the cop SUV to save them in TDK. :skip:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I'm going to give a non-trolling like assessment

- Batman Begins to me was the best movie of the three because it felt like a batman movie and batman only came out at night. It was an origins movie, well paced and not too long. Even liked how they introduced the joker at the end. Acting was piff and Katie Holmes as Rachel was on point. It was also the only batman movie out of the three where Batman's voice was normal sounding

- The Dark Knight wasn't as good a story as Batman Begins mainly because there were too many changes.
1. They changed how Gotham looked
2. Maggie Gyllinghall was an ugly Rachel. Damn you Tom Cruise for not letting Katie re-up!
3. Two Face didn't get hardly any screen time. Honestly he should've gotten his own movie but when you predetermine that you will only make 3 movies, you have to cram as much as possible into each one.
4. Obviously Batman's voice changed and for the first time... he is out shined by the villian.

Heath Ledger's performance overshadows the movie and turns it from a B- to an A+.

The Dark Knight Rises

Obviously I have a thing about scenery and for them to change how Gotham looked again well, it wasn't a good look at all. That aside, the story looked like it was pieced together. If you're going to make a trilogy they should make everything cohesive. I can only assume that Bane and Dahlia were trained at the league of Shadows BEFORE Bruce got there and left, but that was never really explained. If you're going to make 3 movies and you know this in advance, he could have laid a better foundation in Batman Begins.

Bane was dope until, he actually defeated Batman the first time. After that, the movie felt rushed along, which left a bunch of wtf, and huh? moments. Watching it felt like going to sohh.com at the end of may. you knew this was the last hurrah but all you were left with were memories of past greatness. Batman was looking flabby and sick and he was out during daytime too much.

And if this is the final one.. don't make scenes that will lead one to believe of a part 4. The Dark Knight Rises is like Season 5 of The Wire basically. It was good not, great and even though it was the end, it still left you wanting more.
