but gotham ISN'T suppose to be new york. it's a FICTIONAL city in which they used all of chicago, some of NYC, some of pittburgh, and some of the BAY AREA and meshed it all in one.

What was the point of blowing up the football field? In the previews I thought it was some super weapon that did it, but it turns out he just did it just to do it.

Theatricality. He wanted to send his message so the world could see it on TV, and he wanted as many people possible to see him in person and feel the genuine horror of what was going down.

my dude... u remember the part where lucious fox wanted to fix the autopilot, and dude told him it had been fixed like 6 months ago by Bruce Wayne(that was BEFORE BATMAN flew out the reactor into the ocean) therefore Bruce really survived and Alfred got what he wanted

yes, the AUTOPILOT BEEN TALKED TO DEATH. i even mentioned before that it could of been used as a MISDIRECTION.

batman ALSO said right BEFORE he went to send the detonator off to sea that the autopilot was still inoperable...

both are contradictory and one of them served the purpose of misdirection...
