Gonna order the book now too, I remember watching 'Sleepers' and the main kid mentions it and the storyline while in a classroom and I was like
Saw the film last year and even though it had Jesus, Superman and Guy Pearce in it, I wasn't really into it.
I'm sure the book will be good though as I liked the story

The movie is entertaining in its own right but its hollywood and given its such an large book its hard to fit it into a 2 hour movie.
If you want a more faithful and also in my opinion better version of it, watch the French miniseries. Its one of my favorites and I think its on netflix. Still a few things different though.

Watch the French miniseries breh, trust me it beats it. They're both good though.First off which movie are you talking about? Theres a few.
Secondly, they all suck compared to the book
Lastly
This is the best Count of Monte Cristo adaption by far and I urge all fans to watch it.

Wait, we are talking about the Jim Caviezal/Guy Pierce joint?! Niccas saying it's top 3?! It's an entertaining movie but niccas please slow your role. There is nothing classic or 'top 3' about this movie. It's a solid 3 star movie, there are literally thousands of these type of movies as far as quality. Top 3 are things like The Godfather, Goodfellas, Do the Right Thing, not shyt like this.
I love the movie. I fukk with Dumas hard (from the musketeers, but I've never gotten around to the count). I'm going to finish 11.22.63, these two books by Frantz Fannon and then read the count based on this thread.
