GPA ain't everything if you can perform simple analytical thinking. There is this young engineer at my office who graduated with a 3.96 GPA but motherfukker is just plain dumb, well not really dumb just has not acquired the ability to think in simple terms, everything has to be complicated. When he talks everyone has this puzzling look and needs to learn to listen.

Any job you go to attach yourself to the oldest fukker there and ask questions.

True, some people are book smart, but not people smart.

What schools are you all from?

this semester i really said fukk it :pacspit:

got A, B, B, C & F.

2.5 gpa for the semester

Still got a 3.4 cumulative though :krs:

i'll take the summer & defrag, then finish strong for the next year. aiming for a 3.6. with a couple years of work exp. + good GMAT i'll be :smugdraper: come time for b-school

Did that shyt during my last semester since I already had a job lined up. I was rocking that 3.1 semester GPA. If it wasn't for b-school professors never giving out grades below a B-, I woulda been fukked. I literally failed finals, but generous curves saved me.

What GPA is acceptable for accounting? :hamster:

3.5 and above.

But grades aren't everything. a Partner at a Big 4 told me this:

We'll take a person with a 3.5, who has worked while in school and has leadership experience over someone with a 3.9 who just went to school.

The Accounting firms want sociable people, but they, mostly, want people who are willing to put in the time and effort to get the job done. The same partner told me that "public accounting is not a 9-5 job". They expect their staff to work 13 hour days and that includes saturday and sunday if need be. There's no overtime at the big 4 so...

He was probably just book smart. I know dudes who can ace exams, but have zero common sense. Those guys usually get Ph.D.s and teach or do research, because they hate working around all "these" idiots.

Got Calc 3, Physics w/Cal 2, Diff Equations, and C++ left along with some other fluff non-science courses. I can't take it anymore, I want to get into the Civil Engineering program and be done with all these general courses.

Is it me or do nursing students just love engineering students?
