Frailty is an amazingly great movie....top 10 though? absolutely not. But still a surprisingly effective thriller

:patrice: IDK breh, I watched it again last week and it could be top 10. Obviously that's subjective but for my money, I could see how someone would put it there and I think it's deserving

Here's the way this is working in my head:

December is either going to be best Christmas movies of all time or top 10 films of the year. I'm still thinking about it because I kmow there may be so,e burnout from all these lists and I don't want to use up every category already.

January: top 10 best picture winners
February: top 10 actors of all time ( male and female)
March: top 10 directors

And I got more ideas but again I want to space this shyt out

Nah let's not overrate it. Granted, it was expected to be bad because nobody knew that Paxton as a director was worth anything...but it surprised and was a great story...but let's be real: the "twist" ending was great until the last few scenes fukked it up...it was not kept ambiguous. If it was, then it would have been better. Now I'm not taking anything away from it because it is a great damn movie, but if I'm putting it int he same list as Se7en, Touch of Evil, Strangers on A Train? No way.

Meh I disagree about the last scenes messing it up. I think it works all the way through. And viewing it after knowing the twist, it still works. I'm not saying it's a definitive top 10 but I can see how someone would put it there and I wouldn't be mad at them. In my eyes, it's a damn near perfect film

Here's mine

1.Silence of the lambs
2.Manhunter
3.Seven
4.Psycho
5.In the line of fire
6.The fugitive
7.Misery
8. Cape Fear
9. The Departed/Infernal affairs
10.Halloween

Might not all be mysteries, but I still think they fit the list, and to this day Halloween is still the most suspenseful movie I've ever seen so I had to put that in.

Sounds good....but December is too early for best of the year. Unbroken, Inherent Vice, A Most Violent Year, Selma etc won't be widely released until XMas at the earliest.

A Most Violent Year has ALOT of people talking that it may be the dark horse contender for the Oscar this year...it came out of nowhere is being called a masterpiece already...I can't wait to see this film

Had to half-watch the trailer before Birdman this weekend.....it might be at the top of my most anticipated list now.

I only liked All Is Lost, but I loved Margin Call. And I love Isaac and Chastain, so yeah.

December 31st is too far away....and I know that I won't even be able to see it then :sadbron:

Isaac is on my must watch list now and Candor always brings out the best in his actors/actresses, so I'm hunting for tickets to this ASAP
