Anybody their screenplay accepted into a film festival? Anything come of it?
I wrote a screenplay that ended up being an award finalist at a reputable festival recently...got the laurels on my IMDB pro page.
It’s accepted into another one upcoming in June as well.
I’m still trying to learn how to make this film a reality. I know I need to network. I don’t live in LA or near any film industry local.

Congrats. I was an award finalist at the Houston comedy film festival a month ago. Got accepted into the Southeast Regional coming up on June 1st. Made some connects. 1st screenplay I ever wrote.I'm tripping, I just looked at the Diverse Voices list and I made the Semis too, for The Lobbyist

Cool. I live in FL. I flew out for the festival. shyt was crazy. I think I was the only person there that won an award that was just a regular 9-5 person that started writing. Other people that won had been to film school or had been writing for years, and was already in the industry in some capacity. People was handed out business cards...I ain’t have no business cards.
I’ve been networking and this shyt is all about being in the right place at the right time with the right people. The more people you know the better. Anybody wanna holler at me via PMs about it, go ahead. Never know what could come of any connection.
