i need kevin to turn back into what he was in seasons 1 & 2, basically a young kendrick lamar. kid growing up in the hood, knows how to politick & navigate that world in addition to being smart and having a bright future. this drinking, drugs, the whole speech about people who didn't go to college. this show is stupid if they completely bush both he and keisha's college trajectory. we get it, bright kids get derailed in the hood, but god damn, some do make it.
this show, like all lena shyt, just loves to pull characters back down into misery. i hated ronnie, but they did it to him, did it to brandon, did it to kev, doing it to dre & nina, to emmet's mom, to emmet (and tiff)...they won't even let this faux militant Jemma be consistent, girl is thirsty AF. poppa was a good character but they've all but cut him out the show and went too hard on him being a simp for myisha
