If he can't defend on a bad team, what makes you think he'd defend better against a 73 win team?Just cuz Cleveland won the title doesn't mean it was a good trade. Against the dubs Wig would've been better for them than Love. Can theoretically defend the perimeter (hasn't been great at it but in Cleveland his role would be to focus more on D instead of being the go to offensive guy), hit some j's, and be another scoring option.

And he can't shoot as of now so no he wouldn't be able to do what JR is asked to do.
Again, both sides got what they wanted so it's an equal trade.
sigh...
I'll explain basic basketball to you:
Wiggins is currently expected to be the main offensive threat on his team. This means his role is to essentially be the guy. On Cleveland his role would be to simply be a role player.

Wiggins is currently expected to be the main offensive threat on his team. This means his role is to essentially be the guy. On Cleveland his role would be to simply be a role player. He'd be asked to expend more energy on D than O so more of his concentration would be on defense instead of his current situation when he's asked to be a bigger part of the O than the D. And he's not 'bad' now, he's simply mediocre while having to guard the best wing every game with no Bron to sometimes take that assignment.
As for his shooting, Wiggins shot 48/41/79 post All Star this year despite still being the focal point of most defenses and having to create most of his shots. That is a far cry from a guy that 'can't shoot'. On a team where he's not asked to create but to simply convert open looks it stands to reason that he'd shoot more efficiently. And i said nothing about JR Smith. JR is strictly a shooter on O. Wiggins would more likely be a much much better version of Iman Shumpert on Cleveland
Cleveland got what they wanted.
This is KAT's team.
Eh, Kat is who the offense runs through and attracts the most attention. Wiggins and Lavine get a lot of space due to KAT's overall versatility. I'd call him the man.
Offense ran through Wiggins last year. Had the 22nd highest usage rate compared to KAT's #39. So point stands.
Plus if you think either had a lot of space to work with you didn't actually watch them play last year. And since when does 'overall versatility' create space for other players. Spacing usually comes from penetration, strong to weak ball movement, passing out of double teams or traps, and simply having shooters that need to be guarded. KAT is that dude but trying to write off Wiggins' success as due to KAT is silly. He was still a rookie and he only took 1 3 per game while not actually doing as much back to the basket stuff as people think. Point stands that Wiggins did a lot and would theoretically be a high level role player for Cleveland had he stayed there
Wiggins will never be the "main" scoring threat on any team with KATsigh...
