It's hindsight to frame it as an indefensible move that no GM would make. They got prime LeBron and went into win now mode and traded a rookie with questionable prospects for an all star at what was at the time a position of need who seemed to fit well with LeBron. I agree that they could've waited until midseason to make the trade and saw what they had in Wiggins but if they thought they had a chance to win right away it wasn't a bad move. Again, the Warriors changed the game on everybody
I don't see it as hindsight, most of us argued against the trade from jump and didn't view Kevin Love as some otherworld talent, especially with how bad his defense was then. I said it would have been like trading John Wall for David Lee in 2010, one was a 20ppg 12rpg all-star and the other was about to start his rookie year. Wiggins was the first pick in the draft fam, he didn't have questionable prospects at all, the only question is will he be just a good player, or a superstar. The Cavs botched it, they had LeBron and should have sold him on giving it a try, but if he's the one that pressed for the move then he made his bed and he can lay in it now, because it's pretty obvious they need help on the wing and a 6'8" SG/SF with a 7'0" wingspan could have helped out.
