I'd only be concerned if they can't flip that Haywood $10 million expiring for a long term solution center next summer.

They've got a good balance of youth and experience at every other position. Still have 2 first round picks next year and the team won't have to be broken up because ownership will pay the tax.

Like who breh? Guys like that are necessarily growing on trees in today's league. There is still the matter of this year. You don't bring in K. Love and trade Wiggins to compete down the line.

We'll see, maybe I'm wrong and they will figure out a way to make it work. I just don't see it without more of an inside presence defensively.

Al Horford
Brook Lopez
Al Jefferson
Javale McGee
Andrew Bogut
Roy Hibbert
Larry Sanders
Demarcus Cousins
Marcin Gortat
Tyson Chandler
Timofey Mozgov

Could all be traded straight up for Haywood's expiring deal. Of course, the season has to play out and we don't know who's going to be changing directions at the end of the season.

Next years draft is also loaded with big men. They could trade for one of the vets and then develop their own with one of the two picks they have in 2015.

Cavs will just be like maimi. 3 dudes with massive contracts and can't improve the team. Plus the small market will be deep in lux tax in a few years

The big 3 still would have worked out fine today if DWade knees weren't so shot and declined as fast as he did. That won't be the case with the Cavaliers. Lebron has been healthy his whole career & has never had a major injury. Kyrie and Dion are only 22 and Klove will be 26 at the start of the season.

If the pacers go in full tank mode with PG out, i could see them trading hibbert for those 2/3 first rounders the cavs got (and hayward)

Most of those guys are either injury prone, offensive players, or head cases. If Cousins is available why not just trade for him now? I highly doubt WASH turns around and trades Gortat that fast (stranger things have happened though :yeshrug:) If you are gonna develop somebody why not develop Wiggins?

Haywood's deal is only worth $2 million for the 2014-2015 season. It explodes to $10 million next year (none of it's guaranteed). It only makes sense to trade him next summer.

The Cavs acquiring a contract that rare is probably one of the most under rated transactions of the summer.

I never said Boogie or Gortat were or are available. Just examples of players eligible to be traded if their current teams wanted to get out of their deals for whatever reason.

Wiggins needs time. LeBron has a window. They need more help in the front court now.

Love and Kyrie are awful defenders

The problem is that Love is not a traditional front court player. If he was abusing dudes in the post and at least serviceable defensively it would be one thing but this dude took more 3s that Bron and Kyrie and was the worst rim protector last year. His scoring is clearly gonna drop with those guys dominating the ball so his value comes down to his ability to do other things. He's got rebounding on lock but the guys they already have can match that production as a group. Aside from 3pt shooting what is he bringing to their front court that they don't already have?

I was talking about getting Boogie instead of Love. And guys kinda need to be available to suggest something as a possibility. Otherwise we could just name every C in the L.

According to you they need time to get the right C so what is the difference?

Who said anything about needing a traditional 4? :dahell:

Love and LeBron compliment each other on the floor. LeBron needs the 4 to be able to be efficient from 15 feet and beyond to give the correct spacing to get to the lane and make the defense suffer.

Are you saying that a Thompson/Bennett 4 rotation would be better?

And Love can operate in the post.

It doesn't make sense to have your 3 max players all hanging out on the perimeter. Therefore a traditional front court player is more valuable to a squad with Bron and Kyrie.

nikkas can improve on their 15 footer. You really gonna give up all your flexibility cause a nikka got a J? They need more than just operating for the max and young assets.

I never said or suggested Thompson/Bennett would be better, obviously they aren't. It's not about better, it's about fit. You already have a superstar and a star. You need nikkas to fill roles now unless of course they are a beast in the post on both ends.

Like I've already mentioned Love is excellent in the post. LeBron can play in the post.

Love is also an excellent passer. Something the Cavaliers have never had in the front court.

Irving, Waiters, and LeBron are all good to great ball handlers that can penetrate a defense and finish at the rim.

They have shooters to space the floor. They'll have 3 of the best rebounders in the league in Varejao, Love, and Thompson.

They have perimeter defense. The only thing missing is an interior defender and there are still a handful of those left in free agency that they can kick the tires on for a year.

Love actually has a post game, its not like he's sitting outside the 3 point line with his hand up. I'd go so far to say that he has the most complete and versatile offensive game for a power forward in the league.

As someone in here said a few pages back, part of defense is rebounding...we know Love is gonna give up some points in the paint but eliminating 2nd chance opportunities is important too, especially in the playoffs.
