Re: Smart. A lot of Celtics fans I feel are using him as a scapegoat for why they haven't gotten over the hump yet. Smart does make some poor decisions but he usually shows up in the most crucial games and performs well in those situations.

That said, if Porzingis is healthy Boston obviously won the trade receiving him back and the two 1st rounders.
Smart wasn't the type of PG they needed though, at least not starting. They needed someone that was going to reign them in and make sound decisions with the ball, especially when Tatum isn't passing, and Brown is trying to break people down off the dribble. On the offensive end, Smart does more of what they do at a much higher ineffectiveness.

"We don't think the Wizards fukked up too bad in this deal..."

As much as we clown Presti and the OK Picks for having more picks than roster slots for the next 100 years, he at least gets assets that would make a rebuild possible if that franchise's owner wasn't Mr. Krabs.

The Lizards went into this offseason with 3 respectable assets.

Beal's value was shot because the previous GM was a fukking idiot and gave him an NTC Supermax, but to say that the Voltron Sons couldn't make that a 3-team deal to get them some picks off them or hang up the phone and keep Beal until there's a better deal is laughable.

Knickstaps CoreWeakness landed them a bunch of people that don't even fit their timeline and are likely going to be traded sooner or later. There were two FRPs involved in that deal and the Wizards didn't get even one of them.

They still have Kuzma. Realistically, what do you think this pushover GM will get?

This guy is just doing an atrocious job.

Nothing

I really don’t understand what the Wizards are doing

Why can’t they get any 1sts in these trades

The Celtics got 2 for Marcus Smart but we can’t get 1 for Beal or Porzingis?

Marcus was the most polarizing Celtics player in a long time. Most who liked him, overrated him by a mile. Most who disliked him, overexaggerated by a wide margin. No matter what you feel, now was the right time. Team needed shakeup to change the identity of the team. Marcus was always going to be the odd man out.

The wizards will have plenty of firsts after they tank for 2-3 years.

Relax.
Yeah, they'll absorb a bunch of bad deals, get some firsts, be bad and hopefully draft some high impact guys down the road.

I'd rather do that than watch them try to patch together a 35 win roster.

He needed to get off Beal's contract and with KP he had no leverage. To be honest, with Beal's no trade clause they didn't have a lot of leverage there either.

That's mostly why they've gotten so little back but for people to act like they couldn't have gotten a couple more picks is funny to me. I think he could have got more.
all Dallas could get for KP was Dinwiddie (whom they’d have given away for just about anything at that point) & Bertans (one of the worst contracts in the league). & to do that they had to throw in a R2 pick!

I don’t understand this Malcolm Brogdon situation

They say he has a significant health issue and won’t be traded but he can still play basketball with the Celtics even with this “significant health issue?”

fukk is going on here?

I believe the gist of it some teams think he’ll need surgery on the elbow he hurt in the playoffs but he thinks he can avoid it
