I still feel Washington made out. Super teams will be no longer starting next summer. Washington has the cap to go and get players in the future and can still absorb bad contracts for picks this offseason..

I like what their doing.

No beef my nikka

I do see your point

Can we please stop saying this. They are falling for other teams/players’ poker face. They’re trading guys who will be CRITICAL pieces to championship contenders, yet they’re trading em like they’re the lucky ones to offload em.

In a league where there’s like five quality bigs who can score, there should have been a bidding war for KP. Boston, miami, phoenix, LA, all these teams could use him. meanwhile they don’t get one first or young player…in EITHER trade

This may be true but you can find a gang of PGs who could play the Tyus Jones veteran role and nothing of importance would be missed. I'm not saying that to downplay the locker room element of the game, it's just that out of the moves they made we can't pinpoint acquiring Tyus Jones specifically as a win for the Wizards.

I'd actually hope that during this rebuild process they won't discount the importance of veterans and their leadership, creating a new Houston or Memphis situation, but if they are going to go get vets to fill the roster, I'd want my team to scrape the bottom of the barrel, or get guys with championships under their belt past their prime. I wouldn't want to sacrifice potential assets to get Tyus Jones level 27 year old players to play ahead of guys.
They just acquired the best backup PG in the league. Check out the list of PG free agents. It's not good and those guys aren't on Jones' level. Any other past their prime free agent is gonna try to sign vet minimums with Phoenix anyway.

To scrape the bottom of the barrel for everything is to assume that you'll be replacing that guy with either your cap space, your free agents or your assets. PG wasn't gonna come from Golden State's first rounder in 2024 and highly unlikely it was gonna come from the 25th pick in this draft.

My mind is blown that the Wizards didn’t get the 2 1st round picks in this deal, Celts made out like bandits :mindblown:

They can use those picks to round out the roster too
They got a starting PG out of this and another pick in this draft. Even a team as down bad as the Wizards aren't gonna have half the roster be rookies.

They have 4 picks in this draft now. If they got #25 instead of #35, the reaction would be a lot different
