I still feel Washington made out. Super teams will be no longer starting next summer. Washington has the cap to go and get players in the future and can still absorb bad contracts for picks this offseason..
I like what their doing.
No beef my nikka
I do see your point
And they’re not going to pay himThey were planning on moving Tyus, it was reported last week I think. He wants to be a starter.
They just acquired the best backup PG in the league. Check out the list of PG free agents. It's not good and those guys aren't on Jones' level. Any other past their prime free agent is gonna try to sign vet minimums with Phoenix anyway. This may be true but you can find a gang of PGs who could play the Tyus Jones veteran role and nothing of importance would be missed. I'm not saying that to downplay the locker room element of the game, it's just that out of the moves they made we can't pinpoint acquiring Tyus Jones specifically as a win for the Wizards.
I'd actually hope that during this rebuild process they won't discount the importance of veterans and their leadership, creating a new Houston or Memphis situation, but if they are going to go get vets to fill the roster, I'd want my team to scrape the bottom of the barrel, or get guys with championships under their belt past their prime. I wouldn't want to sacrifice potential assets to get Tyus Jones level 27 year old players to play ahead of guys.
They got a starting PG out of this and another pick in this draft. Even a team as down bad as the Wizards aren't gonna have half the roster be rookies. My mind is blown that the Wizards didn’t get the 2 1st round picks in this deal, Celts made out like bandits
They can use those picks to round out the roster too
