I don’t get this from Memphis standpoint because Marcus Smart was looking washed last season and Tyus Jones was good when filling in for Ja. Didn’t seem to mind the backup role.

When they resigned him last year I think they had the wink wink that if it didn't work out they would help him find somewhere he could start. Cause he could have got paid more last off-season but he came back.

The original plan looked like they drafted Kennedy Chandler to take tyus spot this year. But they had to cut him to sign Kenneth lofton jr to the active roster for the playoffs when both Adams and Clarke got hurt

I still feel Washington made out. Super teams will be no longer starting next summer. Washington has the cap to go and get players in the future and can still absorb bad contracts for picks this offseason..

I like what their doing.

No beef my nikka

I do see your point
I don't agree at all.

They have zero centerpiece players that would attract free agents, all they did was clear house, that's not something to admire. There's no ASSETS.

They are basically on day 0 of a very long road to rebuilding.

It's not about free agents.

Tyus Jones is at least a good starting point guard who won't do what dumb teams do which is turn the ball over.

How that affects Anthony Black potentially as a pick, that to me is the big question. This may sway them towards Whitmore if he falls.

If Smart is healthy. He was really banged up most of this year. More than usual. I will miss him too, it's not a cliche to say he did a lot of shyt that don't show up in the box score.

Smart will be missed, I’m sure there is a part of the Celtics fanbase happy about this but his ability to get a steal or a charge when we needed it will be missed. Luckily Derrick White is a great defender and is very good at drawing fouls if that’s who we are handing the PG duties to.

They are suppose to be on day zero. It's literally week one of the rebuild.

they had no leverage in a Beal trade due to the previous regime giving him a max contract and a no trade

porzingis could have opted out but worked with Washington to go to Boston, when they could have gotten nothing

they probably still flip cp3

and will probably be the worst team in the league

this isn’t on winger, this is on the previous front office that created this mess

they should have traded Beal porzingis and kuzma already and went all in on tanking for this draft

Probably? They absolutely will.

If this is predicated on Jones being the lead guard, then they can still flip CP3 for Morris/Coffey/whoever the Clippers drafted.
