We'll agree to disagree all in all but my point is that the level of play tyus brings to the table is not relevant with this team's projected timeline, he won't be on the team by the time the team is able to build upon and execute their strategy for the team moving forward. At best, he's a locker room guy, culture setter and a teacher's pet for a coach whose trying to establish a system, how well he plays leading this team to 55 or more losses is more or less not relevant whatsoever. You can get that in free agency for peanuts and just meet the cap floor year after year. They just acquired the best backup PG in the league. Check out the list of PG free agents. It's not good and those guys aren't on Jones' level. Any other past their prime free agent is gonna try to sign vet minimums with Phoenix anyway.
To scrape the bottom of the barrel for everything is to assume that you'll be replacing that guy with either your cap space, your free agents or your assets. PG wasn't gonna come from Golden State's first rounder in 2024 and highly unlikely it was gonna come from the 25th pick in this draft.
But again, we'll agree to disagree on that.
