They just acquired the best backup PG in the league. Check out the list of PG free agents. It's not good and those guys aren't on Jones' level. Any other past their prime free agent is gonna try to sign vet minimums with Phoenix anyway.

To scrape the bottom of the barrel for everything is to assume that you'll be replacing that guy with either your cap space, your free agents or your assets. PG wasn't gonna come from Golden State's first rounder in 2024 and highly unlikely it was gonna come from the 25th pick in this draft.
We'll agree to disagree all in all but my point is that the level of play tyus brings to the table is not relevant with this team's projected timeline, he won't be on the team by the time the team is able to build upon and execute their strategy for the team moving forward. At best, he's a locker room guy, culture setter and a teacher's pet for a coach whose trying to establish a system, how well he plays leading this team to 55 or more losses is more or less not relevant whatsoever. You can get that in free agency for peanuts and just meet the cap floor year after year.

But again, we'll agree to disagree on that.

How the fukk didn’t the Wizards get a first round pick? :wtf:
BOS benefitted from Marcus Smart’s contract being great value.

KP netted Wiz the 35th pick.

The LAC deal was the 30th pick.

But I’d rather get Jones and 35 vs. Marcus Morris and 30.

Are you high?

Like I said in the Beal thread about everyone’s concern around the roster , y’all DRASTICALLY overrate role players. Like gahdamn. Tyus Jones is a JAG bruh. He’s utterly useless without talent around him.

And the hilarious part is you keep lauding him for being the best backup PG in the league (as if that mean something :heh:. ). Well guess who had that title before him?? Monte morris! Who Washington signed last offseason :laff: Buddy averaged 10 and 5 as a starter. Dudes are backups for a reason this is a silly trade

Don't worry about the timeline. If we're gonna keep it 100, there's a chance whoever they draft at 8 won't be around when they become good. It could take that long. But for now, they have a PG in his prime who won't turn the ball over and can help out the young guys. Best case, you can get 2 firsts from someone else for him either now or later (preferably later)

as for the bolded, who are we talking about here? Pat Bev? D'Lo? :deadrose:? Reggie Jackson? MCW?

Personally, I'd just draft Cason Wallace and solve PG for the next decade, but they probably don't want him and think Anthony Black won't be there at 8.

If Tyus Jones is a JAG and the team doesn't miss much of a beat when Ja is out, then what does that make Ja?

and you're wrong about Monte Morris. Morris was too busy starting for the Nuggets while Murray was out and it netted the Nuggets KCP. If that's the result of Jones' tenure in Washington, that's a W. Tyus Jones isn't a special PG, but at least he's gonna play smart and distribute. You know who ain't? Cam Whitmore if they draft him.

This can't possibly be over the 25th pick. It's 10 spots compared to the pick Washington got, so really it comes down to whether Tyus Jones is more valuable than Golden State's 2024 first rounder, which he is.

And having nikkas applaud the shyt :mjlol:
Wizards record the last 5 seasons…

35-47
35-47
34-48
25-47
32-50

How much value do you think these bammas have that teams are going to unload high draft picks and worthy players? Porzingis would opt out of his contract if not traded. Then he would be a free agent and surely leave. He did them a favor by not opting in until after the trade.
