Should've been a regular (single) LP. A LOT of misses on this one.

Here's the songs - ignoring arrangement - that I would've kept. Keeping in mind that, essentially, two of them are remixes.
  1. "Hovi Baby"
  2. "The Watcher 2"
  3. "Excuse Me Mis"
  4. "All Around the World"
  5. "Poppin' Tags"
  6. "F*ck All Nite"
  7. "U Don't Know (Rmx)"
  8. "Some How, Some Way"
  9. "Some People Hate"
  10. "Blueprint 2"
  11. "N!gga Please"
  12. "2 Many Hoes"
  13. "Show You How"
  14. "B!tches & Sisters"
Meet the Parents?:gucci: ...............I like Diamond is Forever, but I could see the avg cat not rockin' wit it...

Sighs...its like this. I remember being hyped for the album because of the commercial for BP2. I went to Tower Records before I went to work to cop the album.

Once I put it in the CD Man, my emotions were all over the place :francis: . The album wasn't bad just....Jay came off as a high school jawn that did not get picked for Prom Queen. Throughout the album dude was copping pleas, whining, crying, and coming up with "story telling" songs that was cringed as all fukk. I remember dudes hyping up "Meet The Parents"

Marsupial: :unimpressed:

Dude tried so hard to make folks believe that he wasn't hurt from Ether, but the shyt is still burning. Even as a billionaire, dude is still hurting from that shyt.

The pride of man ends up becoming a kryptonite eclipse. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the tracks on that album:

  • Hovi Baby
  • U Don't Know Remix
  • As One
  • Ballad of a Fallen Solider
  • Some People Hate
Beyond that, Jay sounded like was begging me to be his friend :mjcry:

I'm glad Nas/Jay are way past the shyt because it was obnoxious of how the media tried to make it Pac/Biggie, when it reality it was a insecure man vs a man trying to find himself.

SINY!!
Funny thing about the U Dont Know Remix......that was actually suppose to be the original. Might have read it in XXL year ago.....but the way it was told. It was an unfinished beat by Just Blaze which Jay wanted bad enough that he took it as it was before Just added all the extras that were in the remix. The way we heard it fully fleshed out on BP2, was the was the way it was always intended to sound.

So many hoes is a underrated comedy song :mjlol:

I ain't trying to be rude dude, give a nikka some space :scusthov:

Why is you over here looking at me, when all these girls up in here, nikka what you gay :scusthov:

Nikka Jay straight like Indian hair :mjlol:

Its such a silly song that's grown on me due to the comedy factor :pachaha:

Song had/has some entertaining lines.

But The fact it was 5yrs removed from ma$e lookin at me in real time.... didn't do it any favors. But that signaled homage and ending of the beef with ma$e, imo.

This was Jay pseudo bad boy records album. His life after death from Nas. Then he made his real bad boy album 5 years later in American Gangster.

Lyrically, BP2>>>>>>BP. As an album though, BP2 is all over the place where BP was far more cohesive. The production was also a step down mainly because it aimed for too much. There was no reason for this to be a double album at all. There are a few classic songs on BP2, but even the best songs on BP2 don't hold up to BP.

I would've kept these:

Watcher 2

Hovi Baby

Excuse Me Miss (this still holds up although I would've replaced it with "La, La, La (Excuse Me Miss Again)".

All Around The World

Poppin Tags

The Bounce

I Did It My Way

U Don't Know (Remix)

Some How, Some Way

Some People Hate (would've closed the album with this or "I Did It My Way")

Blueprint 2 (would've opened the album with this)

on bluepriint 1 jay was rappin with the slow conversational flow he stole from nas. that jigga man shyt

less than a year later he was back rapping all fast and shyt like he did on hawaian sophie :mjlol:

nas ended the jigga man era at da very least and had jay z retiring from rap less than a year later🤣

"chicks barely dancing, glancing every chance they get, like shyt he so handsome" lmao

those ether bars got to him

Only thing worst than Blueprint 2 was Blueprint 3

Probably is he shouldn't have made it a double disc, if he took the best songs of each disc and it was one album, it would be a decent account on his resume, but as it is the album is trash, and even the best songs on the album have aged terrible

People always talked about Nas beats, but his production has aged way better than Jay-Z's which were though to be better produced back then, and that's because jay had too many filler songs on his albums, even Blueprint 1, he got that wack ass Hola Hovito, That nikka Jigga, if he took those songs off, and just had lyrical exercise and girls girls remix as official tracks, the album would be perfect

Volume 3 is trash, nothing on that album is even playable today, except maybe the intro and dope man

Volume 2 is obviously his worst album from the 90s, and volume is played with garbage tracks to bog down the quality ones, Reasonable Doubt is the only album you can listen today that he's made, and it's the oldest, but the best sounding
