My bro was making $700-$1000 selling candy a week in High School. And instead of nikkas buy their own candy to sell nikkas were trying to work for him. One thing I hate about conversations like these is nikkas get defensive because they feel like they're getting attacked. One of the worst things racism did to us is strip us of the ability to see ourselves as a group. Because every time a negative behavior is called out amongst us all I read and hear is "me, me, me" instead of 'us/we'. We can't deny the age old phrase "go to school and get a good job". That shyt has to go in the trash. Why do non-cac people know to set-up shop in our neighborhoods? The answer is fukking obvious. I lived in a neighborhood in the Bronx where I saw black people owning business. I remember a Jamaican woman who said she owned the corner store she had for over 30 years. And I remember that same woman having to close her bodega because she couldn't compete with the Arabs. There was a black owned patty shop that had to sell other things because the shop couldn't compete with the Mexican pizzeria and it's knock off beef patties :mindblown:. Black people have to be called out supporting Black business when they're opened. I hear nikkas complain about service in black businesses but have no problem when Asians, Cacs and Arabs follow us around their stores. They can tell us hurry up and buy and WE STILL GO BACK! So miss me with the excuses!:camby:

Exactly

Unfortunately a lot of black people don't think they are capable of doing things that other races do. Some kind of invisible mental block. Just look at the replies on here now and soon to come, there will be a lot of excuses.

Some of our most bright and capable minds by default will automatically set the heights of their ambition to working for white people en masse for the rest of their lives.

It bewilder me but it is what it is at this point.

I know it's sarcasm but, I really do hope so. I doubt it at the point though. I used to talk about businesses and group economics on here heavily, but due to the backlash and aversion, I'm starting to become more cynical that this will ever change, like I see what Dr Claude Anderson meant now. I'm still gonna keep talking to younger black boys about it though, and maybe give them a job when they're old enough to work.

Thats his store though breh 2 racks and 12 t shirts that he probably has to sell on a 300% mark up just to break even. Listen @Sagat when keeping real goes wrong.....that store in your mammas basement ain't cutting it nikka. Now I've heard of humble beginnings but as much as you boasting you ought to be a shame of yourself. This nikka literally has 2 shirt racks and some skateboards on a wall....
:laff::laff:...I'm all the way done with this nikka and this thread brehs....,
Are you aware of the pop up shop model?

How did people ending up fighting in this thread:snoop:

All the entrepreneurship threads end up with ppl getting offended and mad at whoever made the thread. It usually starts on the first page :francis:

I don't get why nikkas equate encouraging entrepreneurship as some sort personal attack on themselves. Encouraging entrepreneurship is a good thing. A bad thing would be to tell black men "don't even try because you can't do it" or "white businesses are better than black businesses" or some bullshyt like that.

Nobody said that, and you know it breh. What was said was, we own the least amount of businesses out of all races of men, and that is true.
This country has 27 million businesses.

Blacks own and operate 2.5 million of those.

Only 4% of black men in America own businesses. The majority of black businesses in this country are owned and operated by black women.

The elephant in the room with discussions like these is that black people need to be tricked into embracing and supporting other each other

Just like they were tricked out of it:francis:

Propaganda works both ways brehs.

Until that notion is embraced, not much will change

Obviously not.

Kanye West (for TLOP)and Justin Bieber (for his purpose tour) did pop-up shops here in nYC, then LA, then London this yeqr. Palace and Ovadia & Sons also did pop-up shops. Same with Odd Future.
I'm around the art scene in Houston so that's how I initially found out about it.

Indie artists with strong fan bases eat GOOD off them shyts

There was an artist that opened an impromptu pop up shop at my friends store fresh off the road from SXSW. When I say impromptu I mean my friend made a Facebook event post like the night before

I get to the shop and can't even get inside there were so many people:dwillhuh:

She made a few racks in 2 HOURS:wow:. Selling T shirts, custom jewelry, and prints:wow:

People need to educate themselves on shyt like this
