Incorrect. Pagan means "holding or constituting religious beliefs other than those of the main or recognized religions".
It has roots in Pagan holidays like @TEH already said. It was turned into a celebration of Jesus birth by the early church to counteract pagan worship and traditions because let's face it holidays like Christmas or "Saturnalia" as it was called back in the day were too fun for people to just stop doing. Since the holiday's meaning was changed to be about Jesus's birth it is no longer Pagan it is in fact a Christian holiday.

Besides the term Pagan is just some shyt made up to literally demonize any other religious thought besides the main ones. Keep people shackled mentally so they won't look and try to understand other religions and cultures. But I understand to why to an extent. These philosophical concepts taught in most religions are very dangerous and easy to abuse and to brainwash people and indoctrinate them into cults.

They had a whole treatise created on witches and demons which led to the execution of numerous women during the dark ages and inquisition. The guidelines were straight forward if you are accused of being a witch then you are a witch. The only way to prove your innocence was to die otherwise they'd torture you until you confessed. They also did not allow the Bible to be trnaslated into common English until the King James edition in the 1600s. It was in Latin which only members of the church learned to read and preached it to the commoners. The King James translation is built largely on the work of a man in the 1500s, William Tyndale, who translated the Bible underneath the churches nose and was distributing it to people and he was burned at the stake by the church! Imagine only a few decades later a translated bible comes out based upon that text but with updated verbiage and changes. Pure manipulation by the monarchy and church!!!
