financially BvL probably flopped if the estimated costs are true.
JL movies got a budget of 250 each, so they could flop as well.
You spend as much money as DC spends financial flops are a real possibility. Same for marvel if the infinity wars budget rumors are true

Even with the crazy production budget BvS broke even at the very least and probably made a little bit of money, that's not remotely what they were expecting though. I remember people swearing up and down that BvS would "easily" make over a billion :mjlol:

The reason I don't think Justice League has a change of flopping is because there's still people out there who will show up in droves to see something for "The first time". Aquaman and Wonder Woman still got a good amount of buzz and Batfleck is still hot in these streets.

Infinity War would have to be a complete disaster to be a flop, but I expect that to come in under expectations. They've been hyping Thanos heavily since Phase 1 and people expectations are so high folks will be disappointed. The one saving grace for that film will be seeing the new character interactions we've never seen before.

Depends on the BvS budget numbers to tell whether they broke even or lost money IMHO. That said DC for these JL movies have 2 straight disappointing movies they are working to overcome off of this, and a middling SS. Gonna be hard to get everyone back on board after the previous failures. Who knows, but might need to delay JL release those Aquaman and ww films and close out this movie universe with the JL moviees so you can reboot.

If infinity war is 1billion for both movies its very possible Disney could flop, i mean two movies 500 mil is ridiculous, you have to clear 1.1 bil in the theaters to even break even

I actually liked this as a title. It makes him sound like some sort of crazy urban myth. For all Snyder's faults - that first reveal of Batman in B v S, where he looks like he's hanging in the corner of the room, then climbs across the ceiling while the cop is :damn::merchant: captured that vibe perfectly. It's just all the stuff that came afterwards I had a problem with.
Nothing about the way batman was portrayed was done poorly in that movie. Snyder is a huge batstan, so he wasnt gonna mess that up...

I don't even see the point of a film anymore. I mean the perk of Affleck signing on to play Batman in the first place was that he would direct the next Batman movie. He won't be now so what's the point?

It can still be good even without affleck directing, all you need is the story and the vision... Making a godtier batman movie shouldn't be this hard...:mindblown: Affleck probably would be exhausted from doing writing, acting and directing in the project plus he probably knows if it fails or sucks it all falls on him... :lolbron:

shyt I would write the shyt outta this batman movie it practically writes itself especially with deathstroke and all the villains out there. Dialogue is important...

Matt Reeves confirmed :ooh:

Batman Director Found in Matt Reeves! SuperHeroHype

Matt Reeves is The Batman Director!

SILAS LESNICKFEB 10, 2017
Ben Affleck‘s recent stepping down as director of Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming The Batman, the studio has today set a replacement. Variety reports that Matt Reeves, the helmer behind Cloverfield, Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes & the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes, will be The Batman director!

Warner Bros. Pictures then added: “Warner Bros. fully supports Ben Affleck’s decision and remains committed to working with him to bring a standalone Batman picture to life.”

Reeves had been reported as a likely candidate for The Batman director job when Affleck stepped down.

In The Batman, Affleck will face off against Joe Manganiello, who will play Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in the film. Additional appearances by Jeremy Irons as Alfred and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon are expected to happen as well.

An official release date for The Batman, written by Affleck and Geoff Johns, hasn’t been set. Affleck will next appear as Batman in Justice League, opening in theaters on November 17.

Ok... Lets work from there a superhuman serial killer plus the sideplot of deathstroke hired to kill the batman... Nightwing cameo... Damian Wayne /Talia Al ghul tease... :jbhmm:

In my head, for this to be "successful", less is more. No unneccesary extra storylines. Just the Bat and something we haven't seen before.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Justice League will be the 5th movie in the dcu, taking 4 years to get there.

The avengers was the 6th film in the mcu (with hulk being completely recast anyway) and took 4 years to get there.

But yes. Let's keep pretending DC is rushing through these films on some insane pace and marvel took ages and 20 films :mjlol:

You dudes just love circle jerking each other repeating the same false shyt over and over and over.

I look forward to more mental gymnastics and coli accountants about how films making a killing at the box office lost money :Interdasting:
you miss the part where the people doing MOS said they had zero plans to make a dcu and didn't START thinking about it until they hastily threw together BvS while marvel had all their movies and release dates planned out already before ironman dropped

When you came aboard Man of Steel, were you thinking in the back of your mind, "I could be the guy who gets to reboot Batman on film too!"

I gotta be honest, it definitely was a thing that… after Man of Steel finished and we started talking about what would be in the next movie, I started subtly mentioning that it would be cool if he faced Batman. In the first meeting, it was like, "Maybe Batman?" Maybe at the end of the second movie, some Kryptonite gets delivered to Bruce Wayne's house or something. Like in a cryptic way, that's the first time we see him. But then, once you say it out loud, right? You're in a story meeting talking about, like, who should [Superman] fight if he fought this giant alien threat Zod who was basically his equal physically, from his planet, fighting on our turf… You know, who to fight next? The problem is, once you say it out loud, then it's kind of hard to go back, right? Once you say, "What about Batman?" then you realize, "Okay, that's a cool idea. What else?" I mean, what do you say after that? …But I'm not gonna say at all that when I took the job to do Man of Steel that I did it in a subversive way to get to Batman. I really believe that only after contemplating who could face [Superman] did Batman come into the picture...

nikkas had no plan and it clearly shows but they obviously can't get this shyt together... rushed scripts... redone scripts... reshoots.. bad reviews... and now this

and again... with their A list characters... you think it's going uphill from here?

The tracking the truck scene was laughably stupid

Shoots a tracking device, then goes all destruction derby, including driving through the truck and missing the device by 3"

based on what? his resume is pretty strong. Cloverfield was well down, The Apes movies are borderline great, and... well, i didn't see Let Me In, nor do i give a shyt.

Cloverfield was mediocre as fukk, so was Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and the highest praise you can give Let Me In is that it wasn't entirely shyt for a watered down Hollywood remake. I know folks here will disagree with all of that but they are wrong because Cloverfield and Dawn in particular are overrated as hell, and what does work for them has little to do with Reeves who is just an empty shell of a director. No unique vision, no intriguing perspective, just nothing.
