Is it true that you guys choose not to take holidays that you're entitled to in America?

Heard it before but it sounds crazy.
We dont choose not too, employers just dont give holidays off anymore.

Almost every country in the world has a better vacation system and belief system related to work values than the US.

I remember the first times in Europe, and girls asking me, how long I was on vacation for, and I was like 2 weeks, and they were on their 4th week of traveling.

Over here, 2 weeks is like a serious vacation. And I don't even answer to anybody, but the culture of work and money is so embedded in me, sometimes I don't even notice. Anything more than 2 weeks I feel like I am losing too much, while not making anything, I need to get back!

One, most people are starting businesses becauses they straight up can't find a job

Two, America is NOT A DEVELOPING NATION, Amazon and Google and Apple are coming, business is about competiton and Wal-Mart can't even keep him...you not making anything better than Wal-Mart

Also, 90% of black businesses have one employee

If the job market is kicking our ass, starting a business amongst sharks and whales won't be a solution

Blame the consumers, they set it up so that most workers don't get holidays off. I mean shyt even 25-30 years ago, you were assured most federal Holidays, now a lot of jobs have you working everyday except Christmas.

Nah, its because we have a shytty healthcare system and artificially stagnated wages.

People work more and more effectively, but since wages are still stuck at 1970's rates (adjusting for inflation) the benefits from this hard, efficient work is not being properly compensated. Also, many people work jobs the they have no enjoyment in or keep working when they should be retired due to destructively inflated medical costs.

Another factor is the sheer pressure and fear that many employees face, as they know they are easily replaceable for less money, so any "weakness" like taking vacation is seen as risky.

Not a team player

Not dedicated

Just doesn't have what it takes

People are working 60 hour work weeks, afraid they will lose stature or be looked as disposable, when revenues drop, or shareholders need a a stock jump.

That's not the point

We good, but, we've got a fight

I'm just tired of us thinking we're gonna pay our way out of this when when don't have nothing because the US gov't ain't paid up yet

I agree with you. My bad for the vague smiley.

Just acknowledging the truth in your post about how we gotta fight for ours.
