It's an option at least

:manny:

That option would almost guarantee no vacation in the immediate future. Starting a business is extremely difficult especially in the climate of conglomerates actively working against you.

:mjlol:

Like 90% of small businesses fail breh. :francis:

One, most people are starting businesses becauses they straight up can't find a job

Two, America is NOT A DEVELOPING NATION, Amazon and Google and Apple are coming, business is about competiton and Wal-Mart can't even keep him...you not making anything better than Wal-Mart

Also, 90% of black businesses have one employee

Interestingly, only 11.3 percent of black-owned firms hire any employees.

If the job market is kicking our ass, starting a business amongst sharks and whales won't be a solution

Is it true that you guys choose not to take holidays that you're entitled to in America?

Heard it before but it sounds crazy.

It's the culture here. People brag about working 100 hours a week like they're hardcore.

I used to work in the same building as JP Morgan. One time, a young brotha with dreads popped in the elevator drinking a huge can of monster energy drink. Outta no where he started humble bragging about working to 3am that morning and that he was ready to kill it today after 3 hours sleep. all those iBankers are like that though.

Even I got caught up in that mentality. Sometimes Bragging about how I worked 7 days week. Fukked up part is that most "hardcore" workers are salaried and get no overtime.

Now most companies are switching to "unlimited" PTO, which actually means nobody takes PTO and companies get simplified liability accounting.

I have worked with Japanese teams at two different companies. Despite the reputation they have, the Japanese actually don't work as hard, don't put in as many hours as Americans, don't take their laptops home, and they don't check work emails after hours. Japanese team members at two totally different companies said the same things to me. They focus at work (no Facebook) and get everything done within work hours.

Lately, I have been saying fukk-it and leaving my laptop at work. People that have gotten wind of this are so shocked that I don't bring my laptop home "just in case". Just in case what? Fukk all that shyt

My off time is for my side hustles, my kids and my gym time. It's definitely not for answering emails or working.

I mean the article points out they only worked 150 days a year lol that's more than any country(this whole article seems a bit dubious imo).

The life expectancy was also 30....
If you survived to your 18th birthday and didn't succumb to disease and war, then you were expected to live as long the average American today so it's not entirely bull. But anything else, yeah.

My goal is to eventually work for myself, first I gotta save 20K emergency fund before I take that risk. I want to spend my 30's traveling.

You must have white in you?. Only people that say this are people that have clear caucazoid genes...im :wtf: and jealous at the same time :manny:

Ridiculous premise. If anyone is thinking they'd prefer to be a peasant you've lost your mind.

Likewise, what's considered vacation? Just time not working? Does that include the months of winter spent hudled up inside freezing your ass off? Or does it include religious holidays where you were forced to sit in a dank church all day and listen to sermons on a language you didn't understand, or maybe spend the day laboring for the village cathedral construction? We're talking about people that most likely never traveled more then 10 miles from their home.

There's a million analogies to highlight how much Americans work...this one is ludicrous.

first solid post you've made in years.

I got being focused down to a science. What takes people all day or days to do, i can do in a couple hours.
I actually spend a lot of my free time working on being more efficient.
Music is some powerful shyt. There's nothing I can't get done with some thought provoking music in the background:

The average American (and Coli person) has NO financial literacy, and therefore deserves what they get (or don't get). :yeshrug:
