Ratings down. No one wants to hear/see all this PC shyt.
Awards ceremony was just as political last year and focused on gender equality, if not more so. didn't affect the ratings then. as always, the crop of movies nominated has more to do with viewership than anything else.

Probably has more to do with the fact that Marvel isn't considered high art and the average movie goer hasn't seen 10% of the nominated films.

I still thought Eminem's performance was random as fukk. I thought he was coming out to present the Best Original Song Oscar since he won that (and no showed) in 2003. Still, it was nice to hear "Lose Yourself" again. That was his bottle cap as far as songs go. He hasn't made a song since then that has surpassed it.

Did they push multiple PC stuff tho? This year seemed like it was more than usual.
As for the movies, I have more interest in the ones nominated this year than I have in the past. And I’m talking about cinema throughout the list.

Hold up, Pitt won but Dafoe wasn’t even nominated? I mean, he was good but a lot of his screen time was just him looking cool
How? The big winner of the night was parasite which is a foreign film about wealth inequality. Best actor was a part of a movie which is anything but “pc” and best supporting actor was in a movie anything but “pc.” Toy story 4 won, and the best actress winners played a divorce lawyer and Judy garland. The only thing “pc” about the show was the jokes about the lack of diversity.
The PC shyt is a lash criticism which loses value the more it’s tossed around

Todd Philips says you can't do comedies anymore because everyone's too PC and then Taiki Waititi makes a comedy with Hitler in it and wins an Oscar
He was wrong but he also made Joker for $70M and it's made over a billion so I think he knows what he's doing, the money he is making off Joker he never has to worry about anything

I'm not talking about the actual movies. It's about these actors that keep bringing it up. No one wants to hear/see all that. This has been a big issue for a few years now. We watch movies and award shows for entertainment; not opinions and such. Of course it's a high platform to express oneself, but keep that shyt for interviews and social media.

I think he's wrong on that but not entirely. A show like Married...with Children wouldn't fly today
