Yup, completely got spooked by getting behind early and abandoned the the run, Zay messing up and Lamar constantly hunting for the big throw. Should’ve learned from the Bills smh
the thing is they didnt abandon the run

they never ran it the whole game

shyt makes absolutely no sense

I cant even put all the blame on Monken cause Lamar has the power to change plays

its on him that we didnt run it enough

Hard to even blame one unit. Defense was awful in the first half, Lamar made a terrible decision, flowers had the penalty and the fumble, Monken coached like he had money on Kansas City (the running backs had 5 combined carries all game), and then the defense gave up the first down to lose the game.
Nah I'm not putting any of this on the defense. They did what they needed to do. The offense couldn't even get 20 points, that's terrible.

If Zay does not get stripped crossing the goal line, the Ravens will most likely win this game on Lamar's arm.

He doesn't need to run. Run it back next year we will win. :hubie:

Not really excusing Lamar but if Monken and Harbs were committed to running the ball I doubt he would be able to constantly check out of calls like that.

We can blame Monken though. They called maybe 8-9 designed running plays all game and the backs got 6 combined carries while they also didn’t even call short passes to beat the blitz while Lamar was under pressure all game. It’s not like they’re the 2008-10 colts where everyone knows they can’t run so they don’t bother trying. They’re the best running team in the league and didn’t seem to even want their quarterback (who is the best running quarterback ever) to run. At the end of the day, their offense is built around the run and they decided to try to throw deep all day like they’re the 1998 Vikings. I think Lamar barely had even 325 rushing yards on designed runs this season for more context.

CTE football by Ravens!

Why did they bench Likely for Andrews when the team has played better with Likely?

They never tried to run the ball & the whole gameplan was to let Lamar go toe to toe with Mahomes by throwing the ball.

Team wasn’t disciplined enough to understand that they’re playing against NFL PR with Mahomes & Taylor Swift.

And Flowers is a darn fool.

This isn’t on Lamar - it’s on Monken & Harbaugh

Six carries by the RB yall. Six.

Reid/Mahomes played Harbaugh/Monken/Lamar like a fiddle.

They started fast and knew if the Ravens start a little slow they'd panic and they did just that.

No rollouts, no under center play action. They dared Lamar to outduel Mahomes. The sad thing is Mahomes only needed a half to do it and get the Ravens offense out of sorts on what to do.

nah if the defense is leaving huge running lanes open like they were in the 4th quarter Lamar has to take those yards

you cant sit back in the pocket and take sacks or throw picks

take the yards they're giving you

Lamar shares blame. When you got 2 MVPs you have to shoulder it.

This should have been critical of Harbaugh/Monken why the game was close. However, if Lamar makes certain plays they probably win by a FG.

He was late on what would have been a deep TD to Flowers (who then fumbled afterwards)
If he stopped overthrowing Odell they get a TD or PI on the 1 yard line.

Greatness should overcome coaching blunders every now and then. Just needed good Lamar.

Seriously question what film was Lamar watching last week. Did he not see Josh Allen carve up the Chiefs defense in the middle of the field?

And he's gotta be able to check into running plays.

This has been two straight weeks of Monken having dreadful play calling to start games.

Lamar missed a couple throws in the first half and had that unforgivably bad pick in the 4th, but nobody else on the offense or the coaching staff was any good. Edwards had a 15 yard run on the touchdown drive and had 2 attempts the entire rest of the game. Lamar threw the ball 37 times, took 4 sacks, and ran 4-5 times when he was chased out of the pocket and took off since nobody was open. That’s 44-45 passing plays called to 11-12 rushing plays called. Unless you have Peyton Manning and the collection of guys he was throwing to under center, that’s unacceptable.

Moken definitely deserves blame for this piss poor gameplan but if Lamar plays better we win this game

we got down to the redzone 3 times in the 2nd half and came away with 3 points

Ravens need to upgrade their skill position

trade 1st rd pick for DK Metcalf
or either
trade 2nd rd pick for Saquon Barkley
Thank you. They aren’t awful at the skill positions, but they’re nowhere near good enough to ask Lamar to drop back to pass 45 times against the #2 defense in the league.
