300M is a low-ball offer when his peers are making similar. He is a better player than Bryce Harper. They refused to meet half way.

The difference is that top 5 outfielder has one year at 27 mil left on his contract, rejected a 300 mil extension and will be a free agent next winter and the Red Sox wanted to get under the cbt and they just shed 55-60 mil in payroll and got 5 years of a cost controlled player in the process.
And the Dodgers still won't win

300 mil is not a low ball offer. literally 4 players in all of mlb have bigger total contracts Cole(ridiculous desperate overpay),Stanton,Harper and trout
