The Astros are considering Peter Woodfork for their open general manager position, according to Ken Rosenthal and Jake Kaplan of The Athletic (Twitter link). Woodfork currently works in the commissioner’s office as senior VP of baseball operations.

I always thought and continue to think the Stros moving to the AL was bogus. I guess they wanted to balance the leagues and wanted to rev up the rivalry with the Rangers, but Astros had a long a history of being in the NL. Thats why watching their games against the NL central teams this year was kind of cool to me. Moving the DBacks or Rockies made more sense to me or even moving Milwaukee back to the AL.

Last year they offered 8/200. Trout got 12/430 so he’s definitely on that angle. I wonder if he can get 10/350 on open market. I would guess so?

He has to get more than Machado. I don't count Harper the same because Machado got more in average annual salary than Harper.
