I thought jeff daniels was great in the newsroom.

The show itself was middling but hes always been great in it :yeshrug:

He's a good actor but he was easily the worst actor in the category that year. We're talking about Jon Hamm, Damien Lewis, Bryan Cranston and Kevin Spacey.

Looking at all the other drama shows for this year, none of them were really strong except the Game of Thrones although it was one of the weaker seasons. Still, the acting on Game of Thrones is really amazing so I feel like the characters for this season were a bit more multilayered than other drama shows so I'm surprised yet not surprised as they took home the trophy this year.

There were better options for that category, The Knick being one of them. But Mad Men was >> GoT easily.

Im speechless breh.

I dont get it. Season 5 is clearly it's weakest season.

There is a lot of politics involved with these big award shows. Kinda like, it doesn't matter who was nominated, they were gonna give it to Hamm just because he's been nominated 8 times and never won. The Oscars tend to do the same thing.

The Emmys have been getting the side eye for ignoring genre shows so they probably felt they had to prove a point. It is what it is.

Another problem with the Emmys is they are very safe with who they nominate. "The Knick" was easily better than "GOT" but it wasn't even nominated. "Justified" was never nominated....neither was "Hannibal".

I didn't watch the Knick that much so I can't really say anything about it. Mad Men was...mmm...it just felt okay for me. I wasn't floored with the last season. Some of the characters felt a bit hit or miss for me. Game of Thrones on the other hand, you saw a lot of depth from them. Especially Lena Headley. She definitely should have won.

That being said, this next season will definitely be the most hyped Game of Thrones season yet. I'm looking forward to see just how much more they will stray from the books and come up with their own vision.
