Forgot hannibal was snubbed

Add another @MartyMcFly

I really wonder how much tv these emmy members REALLY watch. Less than us coli brehs i bet.

GoT is in my top 5 ever but even the Affair mighta been better this year:mjpls:
The Affair is another one that was snubbed.

Far, far less.

They don't even watch entire seasons of the shows that are nominated. They might, on their own free time. Especially if it's a popular show, but they aren't required to.

Then you also have to factor in each actor, director, writer, etc. submits an episode. Sometimes there will be overlap, like "Ozymandias" was the single episode submitted in basically every category. But that's not the norm, you might have a different episode submitted for each category from a series.

It's a really complicated and weird process. They need to revamp it.

Fred.
Isn't it some crazy shyt like an actor picks 3-4 episodes to submit, so the people watching aren't even watching the same shyt when selecting nominees and winners.

As far as I know actors submit one episode. But I do remember reading something like what you said, it might be 3-4 episodes for a series.

Regardless, the committee didn't sit there and watch 5-6 series in their entirety before they voted.

I'll be honest the year GOT should've won was either its first season (which was flawless) or season 3 (the Red Wedding) Still I'm glad it won. The acting is superb. The writing is top shelf. And they literally make it much watch TV every Sunday. The Hardhorne battle was some of the greatest 30 minutes I've seen on TV.

:usure: NO WAY is this upcoming season gonna be as hyped up as it was going into Season 4.

Hmm...I only say that because this season will be a drastic change as no one really knows what direction it could go. Book readers know bits and pieces for the most part, but it seems like the whole narrative will go of course as there is no source material to pull from, which makes it all the more mysterious. I think once we see the first trailer, then the hype will become real.

Bustle

a show’s entire season is not necessarily taken into consideration before academy members cast their votes in the series categories. Instead, producers are tasked with selecting their respective show’s six best episodes, and then splitting those episodes into three two-episode pairings. These pairings are then randomly distributed among voting members. Again, similar to the acting categories, the winners in the series categories are not necessarily determined by which shows had the best season-long run, but rather, by which shows chose the best two-episode pairings.

According to GoldDerby's Sheehan, in both the acting and series categories, "voters rank the nominees" from 1 (highest) to 6 or 7 (lowest), "depending on the total number in the category." The Emmy Award goes to the nominee with the lowest total score. It’s like golf, but not nearly as boring or terrible.

There is a lot of politics involved with these big award shows. Kinda like, it doesn't matter who was nominated, they were gonna give it to Hamm just because he's been nominated 8 times and never won. The Oscars tend to do the same thing.

The Emmys have been getting the side eye for ignoring genre shows so they probably felt they had to prove a point. It is what it is.
