I like "GOT" but they'll most likely never win in the drama category due to bias against genre shows. So they're not even factor really.
As far as the quality of the showI thought this last season was pretty bad aside from 2-3 episodes. And off the top of my head a prestige drama has never went longer than 5ish seasons and gotten better because of it. Not saying it's impossible but 7-8 seasons is a bit

If you listen to the Firewall & Iceberg podcast last week, they broke down how the voting had totally changed for the Emmys and it was wide open this year. It wasn't just the old folks voting anymore and you really didn't have to prove you had even seen anything you voted on. They both had a feeling that something like this would happen...

In my defense this is insanely out of character for the Emmys. Or any major award show really.
