I was thinking that Kevin Spacey would win but at the same time, this season of House Cards was a bit meh.

I like "GOT" but they'll most likely never win in the drama category due to bias against genre shows. So they're not even factor really.
As far as the quality of the show
I thought this last season was pretty bad aside from 2-3 episodes. And off the top of my head a prestige drama has never went longer than 5ish seasons and gotten better because of it. Not saying it's impossible but 7-8 seasons is a bit
