Never been to Thailand but I've been all over Colombia and for a two year trip it would be Colombia. ONLY for two reasons. But lets be very clear Colombia is not safe you will get tested at some point. A chick might scope you or you might straight up experience a home invasion/mugging. You always need to have your head on a swivel in Colombia especially in Medellin/Cartagena.

1. Proximity to the US. In the case of a family emergency you can be in the US in 3-4 hours.
2. Colombia has black people and i believe its easier to mingle with locals/make friends. You can meet people at language exchanges and meetups.
I've been here 18 months and I haven't been drugged or robbed.

Half Belgian Half Centralafrican living in France.

I'm not sure which of my questions the bolded is supposed to answer to. What's asking for directions have to do with anything?
Really other than the heritage question it was a statement. Again visiting and living is two different things, Personally I wouldn't want to öthered". at all times in a homogeneous society

I’ve been to both. Seeing your requirements I think Colombia would be the best fit for you since it’s close by, has lots of black people/Afro Latinos and isn’t that culturally different as compared to Thailand.

However, I enjoyed Thailand a lot more than Colombia for a few reasons: much more tourist attractions, More stunning than Colombia, more cheaper, good street food, better nightlife, more safer, more adventurous etc

I know nikkas just care abt ass here, but as a traveler, alot of these Latin American countries are really Americanized which really takes away the mystique. I went to Mexico and it was basically like a poor Texas.
Thailand is cheaper than Colombia?

Very thoughtful list but FOH expecting people here to fill that in. Why don’t you hit Reddit, Twitter, discord and dialogue with expats and people from these countries and start filling that in

Who said anything about being "bothered" lol. I was talking about living as an "expat" vs living closer to how locals live. "Being bothered" has nothing to do with all of that.

I said Othered. I wouldn't want to be seen as a foriegner at all times. Now if there were a Black minority like in the US that would be fine but Living in Thailand would be different.

Ah ok I see. Well that obviously goes against most of the possible experiences of living abroad if you don't want to be see as a foreigner, but I get it. I've been a foreigner everywhere lol so I don't really care about that anymore.

Key words Homogeneous culture. France is a white country but there's a lot of Black people there people wouldn't automatically assume that you're not french off the top.

Get into an argument with a dude in the Phillipines and see what happens. Several random people would jump you, If you have children you're kids will be discriminated against heavily.

Again I think the thread is a thought experiment because people who are concerned about that wouldn't consider moving to Thailand and people who don't care probably would.

I mean the vast majority of the world is what you call "homogenous". Even France is homogenous once you step out of a couple big cities. I assume the US, Brazil, the UK etc are the same outside of certain specific areas. But yeah me personally I wouldn't rule out all non "homogenous" countries because then I'd basically be left with like what, 20 countries in the world. Would never have lived in Italy for example. Even so-called "less homogenous" countries aren't really THAT heterogeneous...on top of the fact that even if people look like you you can still be treated as a stranger/food anyway. I mean I wouldn't want to get into an argument in Brazil, the US, or even some French cité, even if more people there look like me. But yeah, different strokes.

I get what you're saying but for me I better be seen as an american in any country I go to. I don't look down on people in the third world and I know that Im a guest in their countries and act accordingly.

But I wouldn't tolerate people looking down on me because I was Black, Not saying I don't expect any racism and people have their prejudices but if people might be violent toward me or even just assume that I was less intelligent why would I volunteer to give them my money.

To put it perspective When Thailand or Brazil comes up no one outside of goofy white incels talk about linking with regular chicks. If I live in a country it can't be socially dangerous for chicks to deal with me. No one I talked to every said I went to Thailand and I dated this teacher

Brazil isn't the same but a lot of people said if you don't speak Portugese that regular Brazilian chicks aren't interested.
