I will say to the OP This is your Life!!! You'd better get as much information as humanly possible If you pick Thailand and you don't like it it's gonna be a bytch to get back to the states once you accumulated a life over there.
A US citizen will have a hard time getting back in The US if they move to Thailand? :gucci:

And I’m good on Thailand. I’d rather check out Philippines.

Haven’t been to either but I’d rather go to Colombia than Thailand no question.

Knowing nothing about Colombia or Thailand here’s my analysis

Id feel safer in Thailand then Colombia :mjpls:

Women wise definitely Colombia.

I just feel day to day Thailand would be an easier situation to settle in, but if your looking for romance and stuff Colombia is the place to go

I’ve been to both. Seeing your requirements I think Colombia would be the best fit for you since it’s close by, has lots of black people/Afro Latinos and isn’t that culturally different as compared to Thailand.

However, I enjoyed Thailand a lot more than Colombia for a few reasons: much more tourist attractions, More stunning than Colombia, more cheaper, good street food, better nightlife, more safer, more adventurous etc

I know nikkas just care abt ass here, but as a traveler, alot of these Latin American countries are really Americanized which really takes away the mystique. I went to Mexico and it was basically like a poor Texas.

Big facts…Plus Thailand has way better infrastructure.

Colombia really ain’t got too much going on besides the women and that’s subjective.

Are you from France? I've spent time in France I dug it.

to answer your question I have random people asking me for directions all the time (I'm going on a date tommorow with a chick who needed directions) Chances are low that someone is gonna ask you how to get to the nearest 7-11 in Bangkok

Half Belgian Half Centralafrican living in France.

I'm not sure which of my questions the bolded is supposed to answer to. What's asking for directions have to do with anything?

Exactly. Medellin felt like 2000s era Buckhead. That’s about it. Very much westernized to a point where it could be an American city. Cartagena is a better choice in that regard. More culture, more unique, more black people and Afro culture.

Thailand, Bangkok specifically, is just more of everything. Honestly, it’s disrespectful to even compare Bangkok to Medellin as a city.

Never been to Thailand but I've been all over Colombia and for a two year trip it would be Colombia. ONLY for two reasons. But lets be very clear Colombia is not safe you will get tested at some point. A chick might scope you or you might straight up experience a home invasion/mugging. You always need to have your head on a swivel in Colombia especially in Medellin/Cartagena.

1. Proximity to the US. In the case of a family emergency you can be in the US in 3-4 hours.
2. Colombia has black people and i believe its easier to mingle with locals/make friends. You can meet people at language exchanges and meetups.

No what I mean is once you accumulate a life it's harder to just pack up and move. I had 4 apartments full of furniture, friends and I left all that behind when I left Kenya. same thing with the Dominican Rep I miss the friendships I made.

My point is just like it's hard to pick up and move to a foriegn country it's hard to leave when thet country isn't foreign to you.
