I don't buy oatmeal in the instant ready-made packets. I buy either the old fashioned or steel oats and cook them. With the steel oats, add the cinnamon stick while the water is boiling and as the oats are cooking.

Then, slice and dice up the apples, add the chopped walnuts and a drizzle of honey.
