PBC being sued had nothing to do with paying fighters too much.. They were sued because Haymon appeared to violate the Ali act, acting as Advisor, manager, and promoter at the same time buying up all the time slots for all the networks and booking up venues attempting to run a monoploy. Golden Boy lost because Haymon was smart and uses a bunch of dummy promoters and had hand selected fighters testify on his behalf. But Haymon settled vs Top Rank. Since then we have seen plenty of evidence of bad business.. multiple fighters have exposed the slave deals they enter into with PBC (Kid austin most recently, Vanes Matirosyan, and Tank which is a haymon fighter and we just recently found out Floyd also runs the show that includes all the disgruntled TMT fighters and now Bud Crawford) PBC goal seems to be to protect that 0 for as long as possible...PBC literally got sued because they were accused of paying their fighters too much. Go look up the reasons GB/Top Rank sued them and that's one of them. Ever since GB/Top Rank lost to them it's been nothing but smear campaigns ever since and it's easy to get idiot boxing fans to believe anything you say about the PBC since they don't have a real relationship with the media like that, and Al Haymon doesn't speak to the media.
The fact ESPN reporters are who all these guys are quoting as facts about contract negotiations between a Fox/Showtime fighter and a free agent should have been a huge red flag. That alone makes me not believe anything about no guarantees and stall outs. There is literally no record of PBC doing bad business with anybody, these nikkas want PBC to pull Bob Arum/Eddie Hearn/Oscar De La Hoya tactics so bad.
PBC and Spence stalled out the fight with Bud for 5 years using the excuse of am imaginary side of the street. The moment Bud leaves TR in 2021 negotiations should've started with Crawford since Floyd came out and said "they aren't looking to make any other promoters rich).. but what happened was PBC exec immediately came out and said they weren't looking to make Crawford an offer
This the vice presidentof pbc comunications stating this“From a business standpoint, it’s a fight that might excite the fans and all these people that are out there yelling about pay-per-view – they’re not buying it anyway,” Smith said. “They’re not plopping down any money to make it successful. They’re going to steal the fight. They’re not gonna support it on pay-per-view. The numbers are not going to be enough to give…what [Crawford] wants. I don’t know what that number is.
More proof that the people in control of this fight have been against this fight from day 1... 3 weeks ago Spence's boss said "as of now this fight isn't happening.. Maybe sometime down the future" This was all after Bud had told that side that he was going to fight this year regardless, so its crazy that people have the nerve to claim or insinuate that Bud is ducking when its been the opposite
