I came in to post this video...lil homie sounded lowkey scared listening to the pac rant at the end :pachaha:

i subbed his channel...i fuccs with breh...the fact he immediately got just how great ll cool j's 'i'm bad' video was let me know he's actually about the music and has the intelligence to recognise what makes good hip hop good.

I'm also lowkey jealous he gets to experience these songs for the first time. I have become desensitised to these brilliant pieces of music cos i've heard it so much

wait til he gets put on to 'i gave you power', 'nikkas bleed' and some jadakiss :wow:

The crazy shyt is the gap between that LL video and 2Pac's run was only 7 years, but it seems like two different lifetimes

The difference between 2011 and 2018 Hip Hop is there but it's very miniscule by comparison.

back then, literally the entire sound changed and shifted every 2 years.
Really? To me 2011 and 2018 is two completely different worlds.

From the sound to the way music is consumed to the fashion

Breh, I'm watching the LL shyt right now

The fact that he absolutely gets the record and appreciates the lyrics opened my eyes to some shyt.

I think this generation of rap fans is more equipped to go back and appreciate 80's hip hop than the generation that came before it.

I think that the generation that grew up on late 90's - 00's era hip hop looked at 80s hip hop as inferior to 90s hip hop because of what some considered the simplicity of the lyrics.

But this generation possibly could better appreciate the wild clothes/characters/simple melodic raps of the 80s, more than the previous generation, if they were presented the music in a welcoming/organic manner.

Real time example of the effect age has on time perception.

you're 100% bang on the money

i'm 29 and I was actually a lil bit embarassed watching that LL video cos I was like "damn, lil breh got that song waaaay quicker than i did :picard:"

it's our job as the the elders now to actually TEACH the younger brehs what's good with the culture and gently steer them through it rather than just attack them with it

like last year i made my lil cousin listen to cream, my minds playing tricks on me, gin and juice, i gave you power and ambitionz of a rida...asked him to tell me what song he liked the most and then from there started showing him more older music that was like that (gin and juice)
