Call me a copy or whatever..but if he wasn't out robbing and shooting at cops he wouldn't be in this mess no matter how harsh we find the punishment...stay out of situations that put you at the mercy of the corrupt sytstem

I think, this law should be more publicized. That way dudes that ain't bout that life know ahead whats going on. I know its got to be a bytch to find out that your guilty of murder when you didn't shoot anyone. So this should be more widespread. But at the same time. dude was with 4 other people robbing houses. I feel for him. but I'm not fixing to have his back fully either.

His lawyer is a moron and I feel bad for anyone who gets her in a future case.

"The officer shot A'donte, not Lakeith Smith," Smith's lawyer, Jennifer Holton, said during the trial. "Lakeith was a 15-year-old child, scared to death. He did not participate in the act that caused the death of A'donte. He never shot anybody."

She sounds like some of the people in this thread, seems to have 0 awareness of the law. I'm guessing she played a major role in him catching 65 years.

Felony Murder
The felony murder rule is a rule that allows a defendant to be charged with first-degree murder for a killing that occurs during a dangerous felony, even if the defendant is not the killer. The felony murder rule applies only to those crimes that are considered “inherently dangerous,” as the rationale underlying the felony murder rule is that certain crimes are so dangerous that society wants to deter individuals from engaging in them altogether. Thus, when a person participates in an inherently dangerous crime, he or she may be held responsible for the fatal consequences of that crime, even if someone else caused the actual death.

The felony murder rule is an exception to the normal rules of homicide. Normally, a defendant can be convicted of murder only if a prosecutor shows that the defendant acted with the intent to kill or with a reckless indifference to human life. Under the felony murder rule, however, a defendant can be convicted of murder even if the defendant did not act with intent or a reckless indifference; the prosecution must show only that the defendant participated in a felony where fatalities occurred.

NO. It clearly states that it's when someone that is with you is in the act or murder or attempting to murder.

We could be going to rob a bank, you stay in the car as the driver, I go in, pull a gun and an old lady see's that shyt and has a heart attack......Then you just committed murder. If I go in the bank and get killed by an armed officer.....Then you just committed murder.
Didn't even see this yet, repped :russ:

I googled her out of curiosity and she doesn't seem to be very good. Had poor reviews on the only site I could find.

If she was my PD I'd rather defend myself. She sounds more like his mom than like a lawyer.

The justice system is 1000% unfair and rigged against us, but you digging the hole even deeper when you get stuck with a lawyer like her. How on earth did she expect to beat the plea offer in court?

this is a confusing situation

so he was responsible for his boy's death even tho he got merked by a cop? They deserved something for the crime and busting at cops (PLAYING DEVIL'S ADVOCATE :dame:) but even 25 years :hhh:

Wetumpka is arguably the biggest shythole for black people to choose to live in in this state though, brehs gotta get the fukk outta there and least move up to Montgomery. a city that gives black people a chance to somewhat succeed

 DID JUDGE SIBLEY REYNOLDS CRIMINALLY ABSCOND WITH MYRTLE BAKER’S PROPERTY?

:coffee:
shyt is a science at this point

Elmore County, Alabama
Demographics
The racial makeup of the county was 77.02% White, 20.64% Black or African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. 1.22% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Wetumpka, Alabama
Demographics
The racial makeup of the city was 64.88% White, 32.83% Black or African American, 0.40% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 1.38% from other races, and 0.94% from two or more races. 2.32% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race

:jbhmm:..............:ehh:
On da flip side if they were going to rob & bust shots on someone at least they hit white folks(i assume) instead of robing black folks(also assumed) from their own city

Montgomery, Alabama
Demographics
The racial makeup of the city was 56.6% Black, 37.3% White, 2.2% Asian, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 2.2% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. 3.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Im guessing since cops came out, it was in a white household, but Wetumpka has some heavily black dense areas. Like they wouldve had to go out their way to find the white shytty trailer parks.
