That's a cop out. You have to follow the rules of the world that was created. Writers have gotten silly because they'll arbitrarily bend or break those rules.

It makes sense for Surfer to have absurd speed because he's a cosmic entity. His entire existence was to travel the universe. Superman is not that so how is he flying to the end of the universe in a week? That's the dumbest ass pull I've ever heard from a comic book. Just say he's God at that point.

What hero who spends his time on earth needs power like that? How do you justify him having trouble with any villain once you do that? There's no narrative sense behind the power. He can only do that because a writer decided to go for an ass pull upgrade.

They just make up some random shyt like, "Superman's heat vision is hotter than 10,000 suns" for no reason.
I agree. It's retarded af. I think the lanterns should've had outrageous speed or teleportation since they're like space police.

thats LITERALLY what you just did when you tried to mention dr polaris. lets pit surfers highest with supermans. you down? no low showings? superman has literally beaten batman with a kryptonite suit. joker is not supermans villians, youre using false narratives to paint a picture.
Crisis Superman is already a known ridiculous gimmick..which is what led to people not buying his comics.

Batman went from fighting Joker, Toy Man, Riddler, Captain Condiment, etc to throwing hands with Darkseid and Superman:mjlol:

The rules are he's a human fighting other humans. Superman is superhuman so he's not fighting the Joker and Penguin.

I swear a kid must have told a Superman writer that Surfer was faster so he went and wrote a story to fix that. People eat that BS up too like dude in here talking about Superman rips dimensions apart and destroys planets by jumping:mjlol:

How is he not decimating earth?:what:

This is why I stick to manga. American comics switch writers, books go on forever, main characters don't age or die (unless it's a gimmick to sell books), they do shyt for cool points at the expense of the narrative, etc.

a grunt in pain. what was explained about captain universe? throughout the multiple characters that have had the title, they have not done anything impressive.

If you need to resort to the Green Scar merely making Juggernaut grunt as an example of causing him pain or discomfort (in a fight where it could be argued that Juggernaut had a slight edge), then it's pretty safe to say that dude is pretty high on the durability charts.

The Uni-Power I'd Deus Ex Machina; it allows whatever character empowered with it to accomplish any feat that they need to for the sake of the plot. Yes, that sounds like a cop out, but it is pretty much the truth. However, giving Spider-Man enough power to punch Hulk into orbit and allowing a regular human to hand Juggernaut his worst ass whooping since Onslaught is nothing to sneeze at.

no offense dude, but you dont read comics, and you dont know what youre talking about. superman is cosmic in nature, he has been for the vast majority of his history. hes literally from another planet. if you read his comics you would know he doesnt just spend his time on earth.

He spends most of his time on Earth, grew up on a farm, went through the American public school system, has a 9-5 job, and pay taxes to Uncle Sam:comeon:

and all if not most of his villains..... darkseid, mongul, brainiac, zod, doomsday, mxy.... are all from outer space.... he himself is from outer space..... most of his greatest stories have to do with outer space.....

cut it out ... superman is cosmic in nature, ignoring this fact is asinine and shows you dont know what youre talking about. youre ignoring superman and mentioning clark kent.

Growing up on earth doesn't mean anything. Superman is a cosmic being the same way Thor is.

That's why you would hear people complain about how boring superman was as a character, because he can literally do anything and increase his power level to match any threat.

Superman's power level is cosmic at the minimum, and when the writer gets outta hand he can be much stronger.

And naruto went from ninjas from opposing clans fighting each other, to ninjas with weird eyes gaining power from the gods to fight off an alien invasion.

Manga is far more absurd with the storylines

Superman isnt a cosmic character. Green Lantern is..he has the power to face Darkseid minions and what not. But most of his adventures are earth based until someone goes too far.
