Watching the Superstar Billy Graham doc, this is a quote from Hulk Hogan

Do you agree or disagree. Why or Why not?

The will of the people speaks for itself - who are some of the most beloved from the past? Steamboat, Flair, more recently there was the Smackdown Six. Look at the Daniel Bryan movement. Look at the NXT kids. Mojo comes out to crickets. Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville have them screaming in the aisles.

Forget trying to make the product 'mainstream' - wrestling is a cyclical product. When the culture is ready, it will tell the WWE. Until then, the people who seek wrestling out when it is not a fad or a phenomenon all say that technical wrestling is part of what they want. The other part is sound psychology and a focus on the in-ring product.

He might be right. You need a personality, catch phrase or merch to get by on the technicales.

Funny thing is as others have mentioned, Hogan wrestled pretty well and did some tech stuff in Japan and some (very little) in WCW

Daniel Bryan was becoming more and more a draw as they pushed him seriously. He got over and he fans wanted him as the top star due to wrestling

And his WWE style is nowhere near as technical as his American Dragon indie style. When you think of him in WWE, you think of kicks and suicide dives, not chain wrestling with 1000 floatovers into submissions etc.

He had to dumb down for the audience to double his drawing :patrice:

Kurt Angle(during his run in WWE) disagrees. Especially when he fought Brock at WM 19. Hulk needs to get his old ass out of here.:camby:

If you can't wrestle than the match becomes stale. Its a reason why Hulk matches are so damn repetitive with the same moves.

But if Kurt Angle was not also a great character and wasn't able to provide charismatic, dramatic moments in the ring, he would've never main-evented Mania or been in main event level feuds. Angle was a total package.
