I've gotten hella contracts through Indian recruiters. I work in the Big Data/Data Engineering space tho. They're legit as fukk. Hell an Indian hired me onto his team when I was at Deloitte.
I won't deal with them cause it's too hard to filter out the scammers.

I had to change my phone number after giving it out one Indian recruiter. Because I started getting inundated with phone calls and voicemails even over the weekends. They give your contact details out to everyone.

Letting people know they should not be giving up so easily for a tech job.

Look what they’re able to do today, the possibilities with code is crazy. Got a video game running in a PDF file, imagine what people will do with new file formats and imagine what can be sold.

I realized not too long ago you can embed a playable YouTube video in an SVG.

We haven’t scratched the surface with what we can do with code/software yet.

Why Oil Industry Jobs Are Down, Even With Production Up

New technology is letting them oversee drilling, fracking and production from afar, with fewer people on-site. And larger companies are snapping up smaller players, shedding accountants, engineers and other workers as they go.

Among the cost-cutting techniques being pursued by Exxon Mobil and Chevron: hiring engineers and geologists in India, where labor is cheaper, to support activities in the United States and elsewhere.

“We are engaged in so many projects. In fact, for all of India, more jobs are being created,” Chandok added.

diabolical :dead:

Also these are companies constantly rigging performance criteria to ensure people fail below thresholds. Everyone across the board is getting lower performance ratings.
Exactly, when the market is this tight with so many layoffs the expectations get raised if only because laid off people are never replaced.
I'm a backend engineer who is now also doing a ton of AWS SRE work. Jobs are fluid but still none of that was discussed in the job description or the interview because we had full time SRE back then. I can't even spin it to myself that it's good for my resume....cause it ain't no jobs out there :mjcry:

People might not even be low performers, they might just be doing the job of 3 people having to ramp up on stacks they never worked in before all while also having to meet their typical deliverables

Everytime I turn around my company is hiring more people over in India. Someone retires or gets let go in the US the position is never backfilled. We're supposed to drop everything and help overseas Indian employees. These clowns are completely useless.

They got the juice now.

Yea, this is all true, I just didn’t know about the percentages.

Imagine this happening while folk going after black ppl being DEI hires.

Vivek already told them the deal and they’re still coming after black folk. That is pure unbridled hate.

how many of yall are considering starting a business with hopes of it being AI powered?
what happens if they change how the AI works? You can try it. And try to make as much of money from it before other people catch on.

then you adapt accordingly, same way you would with software (e.g., transformation from on prem to Cloud/SaaS)

i think that it is important that if somebody starts a business now that it is with AI in the long term plans. Thing is currently the knowledge and LLMs are very conncentrated. Makes me wonder, if everyone is using the same vendors for AI, how hard is it to diversify?

I guess that is where agents come into play. I like Salesforce for that reason as an investment

What's your beef with primeagen? I like his content.
I’ve learned a decent amount from dude when it comes to Rust and I’d say he has good technical content.

Some of his opinions and takes though, pretty right-leaning with quite a bit of degen for me. There are definitely some hidden agendas (although many YouTubers got them). When they get “brash” like he does, I tend not to trust too many of them as there is a mix of trying to give good information with a little bias to “stack their bags” so-to-speak. Like Primeagen will contradict himself a lot because he tries to go for content farming. Say one thing now then the opposite later trying to spin it.

Me personally, I really favor content creators and people teaching who are more down the middle and objective. Like for me MathTutorDVD, Khan Academy, 3Blue1Brown, recordings of University courses, etc.

This is why we need community. I be thinking damn am I really not that qualified or is my resume shyt.

I’ve been on Reddit and people are talking about submitting 300-800 job applications. At that point it’s literally just luck. And not necessarily a job that suits you.
mayne, i am literally a perfect fit for the last job i interviewed for...and i know I am the right person because realistically the field I am in is so small in Toronto that I know most ppl in my industry at my job level. Unless its musical chairs going on, there is no way there is a better candidate on the market than I am but still it be rejection after rejection for the few jobs I actually want.

If these last two jobs I interviewed for dont contact me back then I do not know.
