so you basically don't give a shyt about poor black people

:ohhh:....now it's all making sense. holy shyt.

Not all black people are poor, Bernie is well within his right to help poor people that will absolutely benefit everyone which is cool that's politics. Now that we are done with that, what is Bernie going to do ONLY for black people.

Define black :mjpls:

That’s why this shyt makes no sense. “Black” is not a definite thing. It’s a subjective and emotional term.

Can’t write policy based on subjective shyt.

If some bill is written for “black” people. “Black” will have to be clearly defined and proof of eligibility would have to be addressed. Government can’t decide on much of anything at this point. You think they will be able to define “black” and a way to prove your blackness? Sounds like fukkery to me, all to make a minority of folks within a minority feel better emotionally.

shyt won’t happen. Makes much more sense to fix the countries economy across the board. By nature of ratios, black people will undoubtedly benefit the most.

As long as they get those services and it's the same quality as everyone else's then yeah, that's possible.
Agreed. That’s what people should be concentrating on.

Make them clearly define their economic plans and how they will help black folks and most importantly their strategy for getting them implemented. Not just “say it’s only for black people or fukk you”

You’ll never get anything that way.

I'm of the belief they can and should be concentrating on both.

That's not what's being said. It's simply, "you can explicitly talk about programs that affect only particular groups of people. You should be able to do the same for us black people."

You’ll never get anything that way.

People here would argue that black folk haven't gotten much in the 50 years they've gone along with the DNC program.

The other interesting thing about reparations questions is people throw out 300-400 years of slavery.... but the US didn’t actually exist until 1776.

Slavery ends in 1864 or 65. So technically the US government sanctioned slavery for about 90 years.

I’m in favor of reparations but I really can’t blame a presidential candidate for being shaky about it. The legislative bandwidth you’d have spend on this would be insane.
Remember when people got pissed at AOC for talking about reparations for Latinos? Because they lack critical thinking, they failed to realize the very real and quantitative harm of housing discrimination. That still affects us and we can put a total for that and it hurts us today.

How could they concentrate on both when one is such an “all or nothing stance”?

I don’t think so, seems from what I’ve been reading on here a politician has to literally say “I’m making such and such program ONLY for black people” or you guys won’t support it.

History is rigid, it’s impossible to look back and say what could have happened differently over the last 50 years if black people voted differently, but this sentiment is misguided.

Government in general has not done much for anyone in the middle/lower class over the last 50 years.

It's more like if you can't produce 1 policy that specifically address black issues, then why should we take you seriously?

No, it's more like "neglect goes both ways".

True. But that's not the argument being made by anyone.

but this sentiment is misguided.

In what way?

Government in general has not done much for anyone in the middle/lower class over the last 50 years.

But it has done the least for black people and every other group has benefited more than black people over those 50 years.

ADOS should be creating the policy and lobbying for politicians to do things. Thats how politics works.
