So brehs, to the ones that own/played/beaten both, which one is better. Berseria or Vesperia?
Breakdowns of the pros and cons contrasting between them would be nice and appreciative as well.
Oddly enough, it seems the gfx are slightly in Vesperia's favor. I suppose due to both the artstyle and since I hear Berseria is running 60 fps the entire time. Graphically, Berseria kinda reminds me of old games when they had 60 fps options and took a gfx hit due to it.
Vesperia is a very good game, but it did not age at all that well. Not so much the graphics or presentation, but the gameplay itself is just not fluid. For a very long time it was must-have imo. Damn good game and one of the best Tales games easily. Its hard to play now though. So brehs, to the ones that own/played/beaten both, which one is better. Berseria or Vesperia?

Berseria is flatly the best Tales game though and was the best JPRG in the year it released easily Persona 5.
The only reason Vesperia's graphics may look better in some instances is because the environments are generally notably emptier and because they lock the camera routinely. Berseria is objectively better at everything.
I thought it was the best Tales story too. But id put it behind Persona 5 and Nier Automata for best jrpg of 2017Vesperia is a very good game, but it did not age at all that well. I feel the JRPG itch coming back. Guess I'll have to cop. I was gonna go with something turn basedVesperia is a very good game, but it did not age at all that well. I honestly can't even say this either. Berseria is way better across the board. End game gameplay or story - the gap just gets wider.Vespiria is better game in story, and in gameplay especially later on.
Bersaria looks better.
Absolutely worth it.I feel the JRPG itch coming back. Guess I'll have to cop. I was gonna go with something turn based
I loved Persona 5 until it became clear how much they wanted to stretch out a half baked story and the combat turned into trial and error combined with resource management.I thought it was the best Tales story too. But id put it behind Persona 5 and Nier Automata for best jrpg of 2017
While we disagree on Persona 5, i agree with this. Velvet Crowe is the most interesting protagonist in the Tales series. I aint sayin the story was groundbreaking, but it was the first time i felt like Tales was trying to change it up and give us something different.I honestly can't even say this either. The main thing carrying Vesperia's story is Yuri. And while he's one of the best protag's in the franchise, its still remarkably dull outside of what he's doing.
Absolutely worth it.
I think its on sale on Steam now for 75% off along with the rest of the Namco catalog.
If you not feeling Berseria though, can't go wrong with Cold Steel either.
