You've got me - we still designate them a terrorist group - even easier to sever ourselves from them after the state descends into chaos after we funnel hundreds of millions of dollars to them :patrice:

Ok breh, I can tell you are the kind of guy who thinks the US is responsible for every little thing that happens in the world.

Assad worship is weird as fukk. Dude was a murderous dictator and Syria’s people are celebrating for a reason. We’ll see what happens next but it prob won’t be great.
I don't think anyone is "worshipping" Assad. Certainly not I.

He was a butcher. But he did provide an existing avenue for support for the Palestinian people and a bulwark against Israel.

And you're right about the latter part. The best possible outcome from this is continued U.S. support to help revitalize Syria - but with that will come the complete sacrifice of the Palestinian and Yemeni people. And the same for Lebanese people.

Largely bloodless revolution deposing an autocratic despot who gassed babies

Hamazians “CIA! NATO!”:to:

The CIA, State Department and NATO are all explicitly involved.

Calling this a "largely bloodless revolution" means that you must have (literally) been born yesterday, this conflict has been going on for over a decade.

"Autocratic" is a useless term, but Assad was a monster. That does not mean that the U.S. was not involved.

Have I said that?

I pointed out direct U.S. involvement and your response was "Yeah, we directly funded this, but it started 10 years ago, therefore our involvement is limited," instead of using your poor critical thinking skills to pay attention.

The U.S. is not the only factor here, but we are very clearly a factor, and as a U.S. citizen - my interest tends to focus on my nation's impact on international affairs.

We are talking about this current iteration of the conflict. An entire government collapsed in a week. That’s largely bloodless. No protracted sieges. Opposition forces melted away at the first sign of contact.

Assad would’ve been ousted earlier if it wasn’t for chemical weapons and Russian turning numerous Syrian neighborhoods into rubble.

Assad fell because the Syrians wanted him to fall. Stop seeing the CIA and NATO in everything. It’s why you constantly lose.

Posting that picture of Assad to make him look so innocent like he hasn't done some of the heinous things is crazy lol. The guy has used some of the worst weapons imaginable against his own, has locked up people for decades, etc. He's terrible but so is this new group. Just hope those people can find peace eventually.

Thisi s a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. But that picture of Assad doesn't change the fact he used chemical weapons on civilians and let Russia just level civilian areas like Israel is doing.
It was war. I'm not a huge fan of Assad but acting like he just did it because he woke up in a bad mood is disingenuous. He was fighting isis and people that decapitate u on video
