I don't remember there being any black characters in the book. I know they made the Dean black. One minority among the group is Penny, who was white in the books.

Syfy is showing the uncensored version of the first season on Syfy On Demand and the Syfy app.
Syfy will have them available till December so I think I am going to go back and watch the entire season to see if being uncensored makes it demonstrably better.

Is Season 1 still available on the Syfy app? I tried to watch it the other day & I all I saw was a bunch of clips.

The premiere for season 2 delivered the highest ratings the show has done. I wonder if the 1st season being on Netflix and positive word of mouth helped the show.
